    CausalImpact

    CausalImpact

An R package for causal inference in time series

...Its goal is to estimate the effect of an intervention (e.g. a marketing campaign, policy change) on a time series outcome by predicting what would have happened in a counterfactual “no intervention” world. The package requires as input a response time series plus one or more control (covariate) time series that are assumed unaffected by the intervention, and it divides the time horizon into “pre-intervention” and “post-intervention” periods. It uses Bayesian modeling to fit a structural time series to the pre-period and extrapolate a counterfactual prediction for the post period, then compares observed vs predicted to infer the causal effect. ...

Unified Data Envelopment Analysis commands for Stata

DEAS provides Data Envelopment Analysis tools for Stata. Version 2.0 is a major update centered on a unified dea command for Stata 16 or later. It consolidates sixteen DEA model families into one interface, keeps backward compatibility with the original inputs = outputs syntax, and adds a fast Mata two-phase revised simplex engine alongside Stata's LinearProgram() IPM engine. The package supports radial technical efficiency (CCR/BCC), SBM, additive model, radial and SBM super-efficiency, multiplier form, directional distance function, cost, revenue, profit, allocative efficiency, FDH, imprecise DEA, undesirable outputs, SBM with undesirable outputs, and congestion analysis. ...

    MandelbrotExplorer

A program to calculate and represent the Mandelbrot set

...The user disposes of a graphical interface to control the program and modify conveniently some parameters, like the XY-scales, the XY map area, the Julia seed for the complex series iteration of Z(n+1)=Z(n)^2+a, being Z(0)=(X0,Y0) the seed, and "a in XY" the points to be calculated. The user can enter (among other parameters) the desired convergence-radius R for the series, and/or the number of maximal iterations N for the generator-equation in Z.

    Immutable Sparse Wave Trees (WaveTree)

Realtime bigdata tool for bit strings up to 2^63 based on AVL forest

...Example: instead of building a class to hold a header and then data, represent all of that as Bits, subranges of them, and ints for sizes of its parts. Expansion ability for other kinds of compression, since Bits is a Java interface. Main functions on bits are substring, concat, number of 0 or 1 bits, and number of bits (size). All those operations can be done millions of times per second regardless of size because the AVL forest reuses existing branches recursively. Theres a scalar (originally for copy/pasting subranges of sounds) and a bit Java package. Sparse n dimensional matrix.

    MRA

    MRA

A general recommender system with basic models and MRA

Multi-categorization Recommendation Adjusting (MRA) is to optimize the results of recommendation based on traditional(basic) recommendation models, through introducing objective category information and taking use of the feature that users always get the habits of preferring certain categories. Besides this, there are two advantages of this improved model: 1) it can be easily applied to any kind of existing recommendation models. And 2) a controller is set in this improved model to provide controllable adjustment range, which thereby makes it possible to provide optional modes of recommendation aiming different kinds of users.

    x2x (xbit2xbyte\xbyte2xbit)

    x2x (xbit2xbyte\xbyte2xbit)

Converts xbits to xbytes, and back again if needed.

xbit2xbyte and xbyte2xbit are designed as sample programs for programmers new to C# as well as a learning tool for the author. These two programs also fulfilled a genuine need to convert to xbits (megabit usually) to xbytes (megabytes, again usually) when dealing with things such as cartridge sizes ,which are generally expressed in megabits, and something the author frequently encountered. Thus, xbit can be used to convert whatever bit (mega, giga, etc.) to whatever byte (again, mega,...

    Lego Charts for Excel

Plot Excel data as photo-realistic 3D LEGO® models

...It allows the placement, shapes and colours of the bars to represent further dimensions to the data. The chart is presented as a photo-realistic model apparently constructed out of LEGO® [1] bricks. The downloaded package consists of an Excel template to create the charts, an extensive installation and user guide, and two fully-worked samples. Creating eye-catching Lego Charts is easy, fun, and rewarding! Platform: Windows 32 bit (XP onwards) with Microsoft Excel 2003 or later. For more information about Lego Charts, and how to install the package, please see the file README.txt on the the FIles page. --- [1] LEGO® and the LEGO logo are registered trademarks of The Lego Group, which does not sponsor, endorse, or authorize this software package or web page.

    abc-sde

approximate Bayesian computation for stochastic differential equations

...It performs approximate Bayesian computation for stochastic models having latent dynamics defined by stochastic differential equations (SDEs) and not limited to the "state-space" modelling framework. Both one- and multi-dimensional SDE systems are supported and partially observed systems are easily accommodated. Variance components for the "measurement error" affecting the data/observations can be estimated. A 50-pages Reference Manual is provided with two case-studies implemented and discussed. The methodology is based on the research article available at http://arxiv.org/abs/1204.5459 Author's research page is http://www.maths.lth.se/matstat/staff/umberto/
