Open Source Perl Sound Synthesis Software

eGuideDog project develops free software for the blind. Currently, we focus on WebSpeech, Ekho TTS and WebAnywhere.

A suite of applications to manipulate (ambman) and convert (wav2amb, amb2caf) ambisonic audiofiles and informational utilities (ambcalc, ambchan, ambinfo). Manipulations include soundfield rotation, zooming and meta-data reading and creation.

BuzzPerl is Perl module used to read, write, and manipulate Jeskola Buzz files from Perl. Intended use is for algorithmic music composition, but could be used by anyone who wants to compose music from Perl.

A machine translation program designed to accept verbal or text input and provide text or speech synthesized voice translation as output. Makes use of 3 current open-source projects. The source is currently C/C++ and embedded perl.

LoopCollector is an audio tool that takes an audio source files and munges them together to form a rhythmic loop. Prototype is being written in Perl, which will interface with sox. The final version will exist as a VST/AudioUnit/etc. plugin.

Mubber is a library for music synthesis and composition with a glib-based backend and a Perl interface. Its main goals are to produce high-quality sound and to be simple to use and extend.

Tapis Bourgeois is a batch music generator for contrepoint and tonal music, written in PERL. It outputs a partially random midifile, constrained by the mesure-wise configuration file.

".ECW file" or "waveset" refers to a file with an extension of ".ECW" which stores articulation and sample data used by the MIDI synthesizer of sound cards equipped with an ES1370, ES1371, or ES1373 chip. These sound cards include the Ensoniq AudioPCI, the Sound Blaster! AudioPCI, the Sound Blaster! PCI64, the Sound Blaster! PCI128, and the Sound Blaster Live!. This project is a Perl script which can unpack these files into a .WAV sample, and a corresponding .SFZ file (an open format used by various sample engines to describe sample playback.)
