Was unable to find simple program to generate sound using a batch file or windows console. I needed this and thought at first that everyone and their brother had already written a simple program to output a sound using the default sound device on a windows 32 or 64 computer by typing tone plus frequency and duration (in milliseconds) Tone 1000 2000 (1khz at 2 seconds) great for server farms. This is a spin-off of a project of controlling a inteliport III. I got lazy and will just use mp3 files to do the job. This program is written using windows API calls and works on 32/64 bit systems (apple macbook pro using win 7 32 bit pro and also a 64 bit hp computer running win 7 ultimate 64. I did find out this had problems running on a 32 bit eee pc 901 running winXp with a realtek HD audio output…I concluded the problem might be with the sound driver. Usage: tone 440 1000 generates 440hz tone for 1 second this was compiled using Code blocks with gcc. Source code included

This is an adaptation of the software used by chdh for the performance egregore in 2011-2013. It is based on five different audiovisual instruments made of chaotic and physical modeling algorithms that you can directly control. This kangaroo-themed program allows the user to create their own music and sound effects, effectively from scratch. There are two variants of the program: Kangas Sound Editor which requires MySQL for its database, and Kangas Sound Editor QI which does not (it uses an internal database - HSQLDB - instead). Kangas Sound Editor (QI) uses a system of boxes or cells, which are placed by the user onto a timeline using drag-and-drop, and which represent entities such as chords, repetition, and individual sounds or notes. The program's database allows the user to create and store harmonics, used for constructing melodic instruments, and anti-harmonics, which are used for constructing percussion instruments. Users can collaborate with and build on the work of others via an XML import/export facility.

This is my first music software synthesizer project, developed over the last two weeks it's now in a usable state but there are still things I wan't to do, In using floating point values for all parameters I tried to get away from the steppy digital sounds you often hear on software synthesizers, I've used real analogue synthesizers since the late 1980s so know how they should sound, deep, warm, fluid and rich. The synth has three oscillators, two LFOs, One low pass resonant filter, oscillator sync, two ADSR envelopes which can be redirected to oscillator pitch. The mod wheel controls filter frequency. It uses jackmidi rather than alsa for good solid timing, future developments planned are a lv2 / ladspa plug in version, pitch wheel control to be added. Example sounds can be found on my blog, any suggestions and additions would be appreciated.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) evolves musical instruments you play with the mouse from small blocks of Java code that operate on numbers, each block designed to keep all numbers in range -1 to 1 if they started in that range, and combinations of these evolved codes running 44100 times per second for high quality 44.1 khz audio.
