...The overall training process involves ongoing learning and testing yourself. In the Learn mode, you listen to the pink noise or music (or other external audio) excerpts with switched off and on 1-octave or 1/3-octave graphic EQ, boosting or cutting frequency bands within certain spectral ranges. Then in the Test mode you are given a sequence of 10 similar examples, where you try to guess, which frequencies are boosted or cut, and you get scored. Ultimate Mono2Stereo
A better mono to stereo audio conversion tool
...All this is accomplished by using the ffmpeg crossover audio filter to split the sound into 8 frequency bands. The split points are based on center frequencies of a typical 1/3 octave equalizer. Those 8 bands are then panned in varying degrees to left and right. The varying width of each band is set to achieve the best balance between the left and right channels. Mind you: the goal was not to exactly replicate orchestral seating. It was to best alleviate that "tin can in a hole in the wall" mono sound. -

...The program will read in a calibrated .wav file and allow the user to analyze it as one would analyze a sound field with a sound level meter. The software implements Fast, Slow, Impulse and LEQ; A, C and Flat Weighting; Ln and Noise Dose analysis; Octave and 1/3 Octave band analysis; high resolution FFT analysis and spectrograms. Band analysis can be made using fast FFT methods or slower, but ANSI standard methods. Source code requires MATLAB + Signal Processing Toolbox. Developed under MATLAB R2010a (but might work with some earlier versions) Executable version does not require MATLAB and runs under Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. -

A Software synthesizer written in Java that implemented a configurable number of tones per octave, music usually has 12 tones per octave, this synthesizer has 13 by default. It will include AudioToMidi conversion and more features i hope.
