The Stakker project aims to develop Linux drivers and GUI CD management applications with a SQL backend for CD/DVD library/archiving boxes. The Dutch word "Stakker" means "poor blighter" (says babelfish) :-). Imation Stakka works, CD-300 not yet.
Diet Python is a flavor of Python w/ allegro, multiarray, umath, calldll, npstruct and curses builtin, all else nonessential to language ripped out. Size < 3MB, 1% of PSF Python w/ full graphics development suite. Diet Python helps keep clients thin :)
Optik is a flexibly, extensible, easy-to-use library for parsing command-line options with Python. It implements the conventional GNU/Unix syntax, and auto-generates help text.
jbytecode is a Java bytecode disassembler/assembler written in Python. Dissasembly code is aligned with Java bytecodes in the class file so modification and re-assembly is always possible, even when class is obfuscated.
The optex module for Python 2.4 helps user scripts to parse commandline arguments found in sys.argv. Options are parsed in a different manner than the Unix getopt() and Python getopt module.
Stop waiting on engineering. Build production-ready internal tools with AI—on your company data, in your cloud.
Retool lets you generate dashboards, admin panels, and workflows directly on your data. Type something like “Build me a revenue dashboard on my Stripe data” and get a working app with security, permissions, and compliance built in from day one. Whether on our cloud or self-hosted, create the internal software your team needs without compromising enterprise standards or control.
Kefir is a code sketcher based on tepache that uses pygtk and libglade. Kefir creates a set of wrapper classes around the top level glade widgets in a glade file, to allow the programmer to concentrate on writing a program instead.
Auto Proxy Filter Test (APFT) automates the testing of safe and unsafe URLs against a content filtering proxy (such as Dansguardian) and helps prevent regressions. APFT is useful to people who are designing filter rules.
pyCodeGen is a code generator written in python. This code generator use a xmi, a zargo or zuml file as input. You can use the friendly api to write your own code generator or you can use one already written.
Javelina is an advanced code coverage tool that uses dynamic instrumentation to minimize the overhead for collecting coverage data. Additionally, Javelina allows the application of logical operations to code coverage data.
Simloc is the tool intended for finding similar chunks (blocks) of code. It could be used in reverse software engineering. It is faster than SimScan, find better blocks than PMD/CPD (not just exact blocks also similar) and could be runed at GRID.
Pony is an object-relational mapper. The most interesting feature of Pony is its ability to write queries to the database using generator expressions. Pony works with entities which are mapped to a SQL database. Using generator syntax for writing queries allows the user to formulate very eloquent queries. It increases the level of abstraction and allows a programmer to concentrate on the business logic of the application.
Following is an example of a query in Pony:
select(p for p in...

APLEpy stands for Algebraic Programming Language Extension for Python. It is an open source alternative to commercial products such as AMPL and GAMS. It offers the same high level of abstraction while keeping the advantages of using Python environment.
