    EZAudio

    EZAudio

An iOS and macOS audio visualization framework

An iOS and macOS audio visualization framework built upon Core Audio useful for anyone doing real-time, low-latency audio processing and visualizations. I've designed six audio components and two interface components to allow you to immediately get your hands dirty recording, playing, and visualizing audio data. These components simply plug into each other and build on top of the high-performance, low-latency AudioUnits API and give you an easy to use API written in Objective-C instead of pure C. EZAudio was designed to work transparently across all iOS and OSX devices. This means one universal API whether you're building for Mac or iOS. For instance, under the hood an EZAudioPlot knows that it will subclass a UIView for iOS or an NSView for OSX and the EZMicrophone knows to build on top of the RemoteIO AudioUnit for iOS, but defaults to the system defaults for input and output for OSX.

    EarlGrey

    EarlGrey

    iOS UI Automation Test Framework

EarlGrey is a native iOS UI automation test framework that enables you to write clear, concise tests. With the EarlGrey framework, you have access to enhanced synchronization features. EarlGrey automatically synchronizes with the UI, network requests, and various queues; but still allows you to manually implement customized timings, if needed. EarlGrey’s synchronization features help to ensure that the UI is in a steady state before actions are performed. This greatly increases test stability and makes tests highly repeatable. EarlGrey works in conjunction with the XCTest framework and integrates with Xcode’s Test Navigator so you can run tests directly from Xcode or the command line (using xcodebuild). To prioritize and improve EarlGrey, the framework collects usage data and uploads it to Google Analytics. More specifically, the framework collects the MD5 hash of Bundle ID, Test Class Names and Test Method Names.

Estimote Fleet Management SDK for iOS

Estimote Fleet Management SDK for iOS

Estimote Fleet Management SDK for iOS

This iOS SDK can be used to update the settings of multiple Estimote beacons at once. You no longer need to connect to each beacon individually. Instead, you use Estimote Cloud to queue ‘pending settings’ on your beacons. Then, your iOS app equipped with this SDK can propagate those settings the moment it encounters the beacons. This also means that, once you deploy the beacons, users of your app can propagate the settings by simply being around the beacons.

    FBRetainCycleDetector

    FBRetainCycleDetector

iOS library to help detecting retain cycles in runtime

Retain cycles are one of the most common ways of creating memory leaks. It's incredibly easy to create a retain cycle, and tends to be hard to spot it. The goal of FBRetainCycleDetector is to help find retain cycles at runtime. The features of this project were influenced by Circle. FBRetainCycleDetector will look for cycles that are no longer than 10 objects. We can make it bigger (although it's going to be slower!). There could also be retain cycles that we would like to omit. It's because not every retain cycle is a leak, and we might want to filter them out. Every filter is a block that having two FBObjectiveCGraphElement objects can say, if their relation is valid. If you want to profile your app, you might want to have an abstraction over how to get candidates for FBRetainCycleDetector. While you can simply track it your own, you can also use FBAllocationTracker. It's a small tool we created that can help you track the objects.

    FLEX (Flipboard Explorer)

    FLEX (Flipboard Explorer)

An in-app debugging and exploration tool for iOS

FLEX (Flipboard Explorer) is a set of in-app debugging and exploration tools for iOS development. When presented, FLEX shows a toolbar that lives in a window above your application. From this toolbar, you can view and modify nearly every piece of state in your running application. Access any live object via a scan of the heap. View the file system within your app's sandbox. Browse SQLite/Realm databases in the file system. Trigger 3D touch in the simulator using the control, shift, and command keys. Explore all classes in your app and linked systems frameworks (public and private). Unlike many other debugging tools, FLEX runs entirely inside your app, so you don't need to be connected to LLDB/Xcode or a different remote debugging server. It works well in the simulator and on physical devices.

    FMDB

    FMDB

    A Cocoa / Objective-C wrapper around SQLite

This is an Objective-C wrapper around SQLite. FMDB 2.7 attempts to support a more natural interface. This represents a fairly significant change for Swift developers (audited for nullability; shifted to properties in external interfaces where possible rather than methods; etc.). For Objective-C developers, this should be a fairly seamless transition (unless you were using the ivars that were previously exposed in the public interface, which you shouldn't have been doing, anyway!). FMDB 2.7 is largely the same as prior versions, but has been audited for nullability. For Objective-C users, this simply means that if you perform a static analysis of your FMDB-based project, you may receive more meaningful warnings as you review your project, but there are likely to be few, if any, changes necessary in your code. For Swift users, this nullability audit results in changes that are not entirely backward compatible with FMDB 2.6, but is a little more Swifty.

    FXBlurView

    FXBlurView

UIView subclass that replicates the realtime background blur effect

FXBlurView is an iOS view component that renders a live, dynamically blurred version of the content behind it, giving developers a lightweight way to create frosted-glass and translucency effects. It was designed before Apple’s system blur views became widely available, so it focuses on portability and control rather than tying you to a specific iOS version. The view captures the underlying layer hierarchy and applies a configurable blur, optionally with tinting and saturation adjustments, to match many design styles. Because it updates on the fly, it can respond to animations and scrolling, keeping the blur visually coherent as content moves. The implementation emphasizes performance, using caching and adjustable update intervals so you can trade accuracy for speed on older devices. It’s useful anywhere you want depth and hierarchy cues—overlays, modals, toolbars—without manually pre-blurring assets in a graphics editor.

    FXForms

    FXForms

Library for easily creating table-based forms on iOS

FXForms is a form-building framework for iOS that turns model definitions into polished data-entry screens with minimal boilerplate. You describe your form fields declaratively—types, titles, options, validation hints—and the library generates a UITableView-based UI using appropriate cells and input controls. It supports common patterns like pickers, switches, segmented controls, text fields, and text views, while letting you supply custom cells when your design demands it. The framework handles value binding between the UI and your model object, so you don’t have to wire up outlets or write repetitive save/validate code. Navigation behaviors such as next-field focus and section grouping are built in, improving usability out of the box. By reducing form glue code, FXForms helps teams ship consistent, maintainable data-entry flows faster, especially in apps with many settings or profile screens.

    FastImageCache

    FastImageCache

iOS library for quickly displaying images while scrolling

Fast Image Cache is an efficient, persistent, and, above all, fast way to store and retrieve images in your iOS application. Part of any good iOS application's user experience is fast, smooth scrolling, and Fast Image Cache helps make this easier. A significant burden on performance for graphics-rich applications like Path is image loading. The traditional method of loading individual images from disk is just too slow, especially while scrolling. Fast Image Cache was created specifically to solve this problem. In order to understand how Fast Image Cache works, it's helpful to understand a typical scenario encountered by many applications that work with images. iOS applications, especially those in the social networking space, often have many images to display at once, such as user photos. The intuitive, traditional approach is to request image data from an API, process the original images to create the desired sizes and styles, and store these processed images on the device.

    FlatUIKit

    FlatUIKit

A collection of awesome flat UI components for iOS

FlatUIKit is a collection of lightweight, “flat design” UI components for iOS that predates and complements Apple’s modern visual style. It supplies drop-in controls—buttons, alerts, segmented controls, switches—and category helpers for colors and typography so interfaces look clean and consistent. The emphasis is on simple shapes, solid fills, and crisp edges rather than skeuomorphic textures, making it easy to theme entire apps with a few palette choices. Because it’s built as UIKit subclasses and categories, integration is straightforward: you can adopt pieces incrementally without rewriting existing screens. The components are tuned for sensible defaults while leaving room for customization through appearance proxies and property setters. Teams reach for FlatUIKit when they want quick visual cohesion and a modern aesthetic without bringing in a heavy design system.

    FlexLib

    FlexLib

FlexLib is an Objective-C layout framework for iOS

FlexLib is an Objective-C layout framework for iOS. It's based on flexbox model which is standard for web layout. So the layout capability is powerful and easy to use. With FlexLib, you can write iOS UI much faster than before, and there are better adaptability. Flexbox is more general than autolayout. Flexbox is standard for web and it's also used in ReactNative, Weex, AsyncDisplayKit, Android. FlexLib has better readability. View the autolayout written by others is really boring. For page like the following image, you don't need UITableView any more. Just write everything in one xml. It's much simpler and maintainable. The calculation for height of complex UITableViewCell is really boring. With FlexLib, all the calculation is automatically. FlexScrollView (the subclass of UIScrollView) can manage its contentSize automatically. I'm sure it will save you a lot of time.

    FoldingTabBar.iOS

    FoldingTabBar.iOS

Folding Tab Bar and Tab Bar Controller

YALFoldingTabBar is a subclass of a standard UIView. We wanted to make this component expand and contract in response to a user tapping. When the component is closed you can only see a central button (“+”). When tapping on it, our custom Tab Bar expands letting other tabBarItems appear, so that the user can switch the controllers. YALFoldingTabBarController is a subclass of UITabBarController with custom animating YALFoldingTabBar. Each separate tabBarItem can have two additional buttons on the left and right. These buttons can be used to let a user interact with a selected screen on the YALFoldingTabBarController without even having to leave it.
