It took me quite some time to create a fully featured application project that could set the language from the system but also had the capability to set the language live from the application itself. Templating is good. It saves time because you don't have to reinvent the wheel and it prevents bugs because what you already have is probably already tested. Bug Finder
A real Win32 extensible passive debugger
This project born a few years ago when I encountered a fatal bug on a production environment, unfortunately not replicable on my development machine. I spent many time finding a solution, using also freeware and commercial third-party tools and libraries, but none helped me because the bug crashed the process, and no of the above tools could be able to catch the exception before the process dying. Also, it was not possible to install a development environment onto the production machines, so the only solution was to develop a debugger which didn't need any user/developer interaction. I used many open source resources, then I decided to make the Bug Finder an open source project. It is built over a pluggable architecture to support other languages different from Borland Delphi (the one I used to develop my faulting application and the Bug Finder too). ABANDONED: The version currently in development is NOT compatible with the latest release and CANNOT be used separately from Cheb's Game Engine (not available yet). I am planning to release Chepersy 2 as a separate project someday, but it will not be compatible. I am truly sorry, but there were too many unstable hacks, I failed to reproduce their behavior. The future version will support 64-bit Intel and ARM platforms, will support fpc 3.x and will be based on reference counting (TInterfacedObject) A simple object database system for FreePascal. The persistence component features a powerful version compatibility system. Open architecture: you must manage some aspects by yourself according your needs. NOT compatible with fpc 3.x. -
