    ProGuard

    ProGuard

    ProGuard, Java optimizer and obfuscator

ProGuard is a free shrinker, optimizer, obfuscator, and preverifier for Java bytecode. It detects and removes unused classes, fields, methods, and attributes. It optimizes bytecode and removes unused instructions. It renames the remaining classes, fields, and methods using short meaningless names. ProGuard can be run as a task in Gradle. Before you can use the proguard task, you have to make sure Gradle can find it in its class path at build time.

    mruby

    mruby

    Lightweight Ruby

...It maintains compatibility with modern Ruby syntax while offering a significantly reduced footprint compared to the standard Ruby interpreter. The system includes its own virtual machine, bytecode compiler, and interactive shell, enabling developers to write, compile, and execute Ruby code efficiently. One of its core strengths is its embeddability, allowing developers to integrate scripting capabilities directly into applications written in C or C++. mruby also includes a package system called mrbgems, which enables modular extension of functionality through additional libraries. ...

    JWebAssembly

    JWebAssembly

    Java bytecode to WebAssembly compiler

JWebAssembly is a compiler that translates Java bytecode into WebAssembly, enabling Java applications to run in web browsers or other Wasm-compatible environments. Instead of requiring JavaScript as an intermediary, it directly converts compiled Java classes into WebAssembly modules, preserving performance and reducing overhead. The project supports a subset of the Java standard library and focuses on enabling practical execution of Java programs in web contexts.

    SBI - Small Bytecode Interpreter

SBI - A Small Bytecode Intepreter to run programs on an AVR from SD

The project was originally created to run programs from a MicroSD card on an ATmega16 (without reprogramming it). SBI is a generic library (platform indipendent) that lets you run programs from a stream (es. File). The programs are a sort of bytecode, and they are interpretated at the moment. So you don't have the better speed, but for now this is the only way to run programs from RAM (or SD) on Harvard architectures.
