This repository contains the source files for the official RISC‑V Instruction Set Manual, including the Privileged RISC‑V Manual in LaTeX and the Unprivileged Manual in AsciiDoc. It tracks formal ratified versions of the ISA maintained by RISC‑V International and hosts build workflows for releasing updated ISA documents.

This project comprises two main parts: 1. The classic "Rodney" as described in David L. Heisermann's book "How to build your own self-programming robot", with the original Intel 8085 code. In all likelihood, this is for reference only. I don't expect many people are going to build it 2. An updated version, running on more modern hardware, but remaining true to the algorithms published in his book. The end result will be at least three sets of code, for the Alpha, Beta and Gamma versions of Rodney. We would also like to experiment with a "Delta" version which could use either bare RF or WiFi to exchange state data between machines. A "hive mind" if you like. For the new-generation version, we propose targeting two hardware platforms: 1. Arduino, since it's cheap and easy to use, while remaining close to the bare metal 2. DXForth port to the 8-bit CP/M operating system lacked similar capability. The aim of this project is to provide an replacement of the original xplgraph.scr library, exposing roughly the same API, enabling graphics in DXForth running under CP/M. This library is written using DXForth's inline assembly (with all of its cryptic syntax) and uses CP/M's GSX interface. Using this interface enables graphical output to either local screen or remote devices connected through a serial port (like Tektronix 4010 text-and-graphics terminal emulator running on PC). Limitations: - No colors, no shades of gray. Color 0 is blank, others are mapped to solid pixels. - No READPIX function. - PALETTE, SETPAL and SOUNDX are dummy.
