Multimedia consumption at social events - if available - can be considered as a complex problem. People use their smart phones and tablets to take pictures and videos, leading to a high number of production places. If we enable those visitors to share their content at the event, new challenges emerge. Visitors move, go online and offline, and build a dynamic network. One can say a complex adaptive network emerges, with all its problems. We tackle these problems by introducing a bio-inspired algorithm, which lets the content place itself where it is needed. It is robust, scalable and adaptive. The transport path of content is exploited to replicate content and limited storage space is handled by clean-up mechanisms. We implemented a simulator to show the algorithm's performance and to test its behavior under real circumstances. It is easily extendable to support several new scenarios or changes to the algorithm (see replication and client models).

The Gecko Hamaker open-source software project is a full implementation of the fully retarded Lifshitz formulations for isotropic and anisotropic plane-plane and cylinder-cylinder interactions with intervening interlayer materials, planar systems of up to 99 layers, and graded interfaces for the modeling of grain boundaries or other continuously changing systems, accompanied by a database of material optical properties spectra. The machine-readable optical property database is available for download and as a web service and makes available the full spectral optical properties of over 150 materials from both ab initio calculations and experimental measurements.

At the moment NeSSi² is not actively maintained anymore since we are planning a successor project. NeSSi² is a network simulation tool suite addressing in particular network security aspects. Sample capabilities are profile-based attack generation, traffic analysis and support for attack/malware detection algorithm plugins.

TraceMetrics is a trace file analyzer for Network Simulator 3 (ns-3). The main goal is to perform a quick analyzis of the trace file produced by ns-3's simulations and calculate useful metrics for research and performance measurement. Such tool is needed because a research simulation may generate a trace file with thousands of lines, becoming dificult to analyze manually. Due to this, this tool can be handy in case someone needs a metric that the tool already support. TraceMetrics is an opensource tool, developed in Java and the code can be found here. Arduino Simulator is a software developed to create simulation for Arduino micro-controller. The interface of the main window is straightforward and intuitive, as it is divided into two tabs called Code and Wiring, each with its specific functionality. Arduino Simulator features touch sensor, LED blinking, 4x4 Keypad, One Digit Seven Segment Display, Serial Monitor to display the output of the code, Wiring to show how to make wiring, Hardware requirements that list the components of the circuit, save log to text file, save the .ino file to use it in Arduino IDE and save the wiring photo as .png file.
