NGSolve is a general purpose Finite Element Library on top of Netgen. With the basic library one can solve heat flow equations, Maxwell equations, and solid mechanical problems. The Free Finite Element Package is a library which contains numerical methods required when working with finite elements. The goal of FFEP is to provide basic functions for approximating the solution of elliptic and parabolic PDEs in 2D. Until 2016 FFEP was developed using C. Science 2016 the language was switched to GNU Octave with some C Mex-Functions.

A solver based on the spectral element method, used in conjunction with FEMAP, as a pre- and post- processor. It solves the elastic wave propagation problem, and the coupling with a piezoelectric materials for excitation and sensing. It is currently in 2D and has both static and transient capabilities.
