Zgoubi is a raytracing code. Since 1972 it pushes charged particles through accelerators and beam lines, by stepwise solution of Lorentz force equation - and their spins via Thomas-BMT differential equation. Zgoubi simulates beam dynamics and polarization in a variety of accelerators (storage ring, synchrotron, cyclotron, betatron, microtron, FFAG, multi-pass ERL, etc) and optical systems (beam lines, magnetic and electrostatic optical components, time-of-flight and mass spectrometers, etc). ...

    The DREAM Toolbox

The DREAM toolbox is a free open source acoustic field simulation tool

The DREAM (Discrete REpresentation Array Modelling) toolbox is a free open source toolbox, for both Matlab and Octave , for simulating acoustic fields radiated from common ultrasonic transducer types and arbitrarily complicated ultrasonic transducers arrays. The DREAM toolbox enables analysis of beam-steering, beam-focusing, and apodization for wideband (pulse) excitation both in near and far fields. The code in the svn repository # svn co http://svn.code.sf.net/p/dreamtoolbox/code/trunk dream is not used actively anymore and is kept here for referecne only. The development code has moved to git on: https://github.com/frli8848/DREAM

    MIST

    MIST

A MATLAB toolbox to simulate optical systems

Modal Interferometer Simulation Tool (MIST) is a MATLAB toolbox that can simulate arbitrary resonant optical systems in the paraxial beam approximation. It allows the user to define any optical setup (composed typically of laser sources, mirrors, lenses, electro-optical modulators and detectors) and to compute the static laser field at any point. It uses a Hermite-Gauss modal decomposition to simulate diffraction limited optics. This tool is being developed mainly for simulation of large scale interferometers with resonant cavities used for the detection of gravitational waves. ...

    Depolarization analysis tools

    Depolarization analysis tools

Tools for the accurate analysis of Raman depolarization measurement

...A numerical model is programme to calculate, for realistic experimental configurations, effective Raman line strength functions, which find their way into depolarization ratios. The model is based on interlinked integrations over the angles in the light collection path, and a finite Raman source volume along the excitation laser beam. The model deals as well with the conditional aperture parameters, associated with more than one optical component in the light collection path. Finally, the model also takes into account polarization aberrations introduced by the sample cell windows.

    2DSPH-Simulator

    2DSPH-Simulator

    Smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulator

...It's possible to save simulations and to restart calculations from this safepoints. A tempSave-file is written to restart simulations, if they crash from an earlier point. Now in v2 an example is added with a FEM beam and a moving piston. Both are hardcoded in the code and must be changed if you want to use it otherwise. Now it can be used only 1 bar and 1 piston, for future it will be changed. Video of textcase: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLYVSWkhXBI Software is tested and runs stable with up two 5000 SPH particles. Known Problems: If there are more than 15000-20000 SPH particles, after some simulationssteps the calculation slows down and gains all memory. ...

    SLM-Topo

    SLM-Topo

Topology optimisation designed for laser based additive manufacturing

In the selective laser melting process (SLM), components are built up layer by layer by incremental melting of metal powder with a laser beam. This process leads to locally inhomogeneous material properties of the manufactured components. By integrating these specific material properties of the SLM-process into a topology optimization, product developers can be supported in the design process by simulation. For this purpose, a topology optimization method is being developed which takes into account the unique material properties of parts manufactured with the SLM-process. ...
