As an open source penetration testing tool, IPTC-Attacker allows to create an image with IPTC metadata containing testing vectors for Cross-Site Scripting attacks. Each checkbox can be used to include a huge collection of payloads into the selected tags (HTML5sec, XSS Cheat Sheet). If a checkbox will be not selected, the string aaa'bbb"ccc<ddd is automatically included into the unchecked IPTC tag. Therefore, testing for XSS vulnerabilities via IPTC metadata is possible by looking into the source code of the attacked Web application; strictly speaking for aaa'bbb"ccc<ddd or alternatively by verifying if, for example, alert-windows appear due to the XSS vector collection. -

IVRE is an open source network reconnaissance framework designed to collect, process, and analyze intelligence gathered from network scans and traffic data. It provides tools for both active and passive reconnaissance, enabling users to understand how networks behave and identify exposed services or infrastructure. The framework integrates with well known security and scanning tools such as Nmap, Masscan, ZGrab2, ZDNS, and Zeek to gather large amounts of network intelligence. IVRE stores the collected data in a database and offers multiple ways to explore and analyze it, including a web interface, command line tools, and a Python API. This allows security professionals to query scan results, inspect network flows, and identify patterns across large datasets. The project can be used to build self hosted alternatives to internet scanning services such as Shodan or Censys, giving organizations full control over their own reconnaissance infrastructure. -

An ExternalSecret declares how to fetch the secret data, while the controller converts all ExternalSecrets to Secrets. The conversion is completely transparent to Pods that can access Secrets normally. By default Secrets are not encrypted at rest and are open to attack, either via the etcd server or via backups of etcd data. -
