Detect It Easy (DiE) is a tool for determining the type and internal features of binary and other file formats. It is widely used by malware analysts, digital forensics investigators, reverse engineers, and security researchers to quickly inspect unknown files and infer their type, architecture, compiler/packer used, and internal structure. DiE supports a large variety of file formats — from common executables (Windows PE, Linux ELF, macOS Mach-O) to archives, mobile packages (APK, IPA), legacy binaries, compressed or packed files, and more — making it a versatile first step in analysis or triage workflows. The tool offers both a graphical user interface as well as a command-line interface, allowing flexible use across environments (desktop, servers, automation). Its detection engine is signature-based, but also includes heuristics that help when signatures are missing or obfuscated. This helps when analyzing packed, compressed, or partially corrupted files. -

An efficient blocker add-on for various browsers. Fast, potent, and lean. uBlock Origin is not an "ad blocker", it is a wide-spectrum blocker, which happens to be able to function as a mere "ad blocker". The default behavior of uBlock Origin, when newly installed, is to block ads, trackers and malware sites through EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Peter Lowe’s ad/tracking/malware servers, Online Malicious URL Blocklist, and uBlock Origin's own filter lists. uBlock Origin (or uBlock₀) is not an ad blocker; it's a general-purpose blocker. uBlock Origin blocks ads through its support of the Adblock Plus filter syntax. uBlock Origin extends the syntax and is designed to work with custom rules and filters. Furthermore, the advanced mode allows uBlock Origin to work in default-deny mode, which mode will cause all 3rd-party network requests to be blocked by default unless allowed by the user. -

mkcert
Zero-config tool to make locally trusted development certificates
mkcert is a simple tool for making locally-trusted development certificates. It requires no configuration. Using certificates from real certificate authorities (CAs) for development can be dangerous or impossible (for hosts like example.test, localhost or 127.0.0.1), but self-signed certificates cause trust errors. Managing your own CA is the best solution, but usually involves arcane commands, specialized knowledge and manual steps. mkcert automatically creates and installs a local CA in the system root store, and generates locally-trusted certificates. mkcert does not automatically configure servers to use the certificates, though, that's up to you. The CA certificate and its key are stored in an application data folder in the user's home. You usually don't have to worry about it, as the installation is automated, but the location is printed by mkcert -CAROOT. -
