It is based off of the simplicity of bashpodder with a few added features. It downloads podcasts from a list of XML feeds, and puts them into a download directory by date.

Accepts a regular expression as an argument and any matches found (stdin) will be highlighted (stdout) using shell color escape sequences. Good for looking through logs/monitoring console output/etc.

ack2 is a programmer-centric search tool written in Perl that serves as a smarter, faster alternative to grep for source trees. It defaults to searching only relevant files while skipping build artifacts, VCS directories, minified bundles, and other noise, which dramatically reduces false hits. Filetype filtering is first-class: you can target languages by name (--perl, --python, --js) or define your own groups, and ack maps common extensions automatically. Results are colorized with context options, PCRE regular expressions are supported, and output is tuned for quick scanning across many files. The tool respects .gitignore and its own ignore mechanisms, and it offers sensible defaults that require minimal flags for day-to-day use. By optimizing for developer workflows rather than raw POSIX compatibility, ack2 helps you navigate large codebases with less typing and less cognitive load.

A command line tool to get information about files on your file system thanks to SQL queries. It is able to point quickly broken symbolic links, hard links and sparse files. It targets Unix but it should run on any system where Perl is available.

greps is a script written in perl which wraps the regular installed grep with new options that can make the search faster and return more relevant results (or less non-relevant results). The usage of greps is same as you would use grep, and all options that are available with grep can be used in the same way also with greps. Basically what greps does is allowing you to choose also the patterns or extentions of relevant files. Then it executes find for finding such files, and executes grep on those files (find | xargs grep).

The "Lib45" string search library provides routines that generate fast string searching code at run-time. The library is written in Assembly language for Intel 32bit CPUs.

pLsearch was created to assist System Administrators in their quest for grep'ing logs and other files for specific content, and then spitting it out in a format that is generally easy on the eyes.
