Open Source Python Screen Savers

Wakefull, like Caffeine, keeps your screen awake by blocking screen/power savers. The main difference from Caffeine is that Wakefull gives you (the user) access to the scripts being run - so you can adapt it for whatever environment you are using. This was developed for a system where Caffeine was not readily available.

This project has moved to GitHub, at https://github.com/deragon/autopoweroff/ Autopoweroff is a daemon for the Linux operating system that shuts down the server or run any other command at a specific time if no other workstations on the LAN requires it services or if any user is working on it . A GUI is provided for configuration. Useful for home servers.

Diet BOINC is a no-graphics, lightweight alternative XScreenSaver module for the boinscr screensaver. If the Boinscr module in XScreenSaver is showing a black screen with the words 'boinc not running' or similar, Diet BOINC may be able to replace it with a working alternative. For Linux only Dependencies: - XScreenSaver - BOINC software - Python 2.x Tested in CentOS & Ubuntu Linux. Should work in other Linux if you can run these three items.

Flashcard screensaver for practising new (natural) languages. Windows only, using the pyscr Python screensaver library. Simple Chinese dictionary included.

PyPowerMan shall be a replacement for KPowersave which is not further supported by Ubuntu. At least it should manage the powerstate of a laptop using different profiles.

justscreenshot is not an awesome app that will change your life. It is simply a button to take a screenshot that you can save wherever you want and whose default file name is screenshot.png. While the screenshot is being taken, the application becomes invisible so as not to disturb. This application exists because one day I wanted to take a screenshot, my keyboard was not working correctly. My life didn't change, but I was able to hold out a little longer until I bought a new keyboard! justscreenshot is portable, that is, it does not need to be installed (open the executable and click the TAKE A SCREENSHOT button).
