After the adhesive cured, the mandrel was removed leaving a spool composed of cable rings bound together by the adhesive. Both cables were very stiff radially. Hence, only axial and bending of the cable and mandrel stiffnesses were considered. Cable radial stiffness, which may be significant in some applications, was neglected. Derivation of the methodology is included.
