    PROPER Optical Propagation Library

Routines for wavefront propagation in IDL, Matlab, and Python

...It will remain available on Sourceforge after that, but there will be no updates or bug fixes. PROPER is a library of routines for the propagation of wavefronts through an optical system using Fourier-based methods. It was developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for modeling stellar coronagraphs, but it can be applied to other optical systems were diffraction propagation is of concern. It is currently available for IDL (Interactive Data Language), Matlab and Python (3.x). It includes routines for generating complex apertures and obscurations and aberrations (Zernike & PSD-defined). ...

    Ultrashort Pulse Propagator

    Ultrashort Pulse Propagator

A powerful simulation for designing femtosecond lasers and amplifiers.

This is a simulation package developed for numerical simulation of ultrashort pulse propagation in optical media and pulse generation from mode-locked lasers. Although the code is primarily intended for investigations of fiber links, fiber amplifiers and fiber lasers, it can be applied to any other setting for which the governing equiations are valid. The physics included in the code is based on a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation, including higher order dispersion, stimulated Raman effect, gain with bandwidth limitation and saturation, loss, and saturable absorption. ...

    KLT-IV
KLT-IV v1.0 has been designed to offer a user-friendly graphical user interface for the determination of river flow velocity and river discharge using videos acquired using a variety of fixed and moving platforms. KLT-IV employs optical flow and computer vision techniques for the tracking of features present on the river surface with pixel displacements being converted to real-world velocities using an optimised camera model approach. Movement of the platform can be accounted for when ground control points and/or stable features are present, or where the platform is equipped with GPS and IMU sensors. ...

    Sensitizer

    Sensitizer

A toolset to automate STOP analysis with Zemax OpticStudio

...The core data structure of SENSITIZER is an optical group, which can be any optical surface in the lens file or a set of subsequent surfaces. These groups will be perturbed by varying their positions relative to the rest of the system (rigid-body-motions) and/or by adding Zernike shape deformations on their front surface. After a certain perturbation is applied, ZOS runs (sequential) raytracing to compute the optical performance such as centroid displacement or wavefront error.

    UmUTracker

    UmUTracker

A MATLAB program for 2D particle tracking or 3D DHM based tracking.

We present a versatile and fast MATLAB program (UmUTracker) that automatically detects and tracks particles by analyzing long video sequences acquired by either light microscopy or digital holography microscopy (DHM). Our program finds the 2D particle center position using an isosceles triangle transform and the axial position by a fast implementation of Rayleigh-Sommerfeld numerical reconstruction algorithm using a one dimensional radial intensity profile. *Updates v1.1: 2017/11/21- Bug...

    MIST

    MIST

A MATLAB toolbox to simulate optical systems

Modal Interferometer Simulation Tool (MIST) is a MATLAB toolbox that can simulate arbitrary resonant optical systems in the paraxial beam approximation. It allows the user to define any optical setup (composed typically of laser sources, mirrors, lenses, electro-optical modulators and detectors) and to compute the static laser field at any point. It uses a Hermite-Gauss modal decomposition to simulate diffraction limited optics. This tool is being developed mainly for simulation of large scale interferometers with resonant cavities used for the detection of gravitational waves. ...

    Toastpp Printed Mouse Phantoms: DOT
This project demonstrates the usefulness of 3D printing for optical imaging applications. We present a new optical phantom fabricated using inexpensive 3D printing methods with multiple materials, allowing for the placement of complex inhomogeneities in anatomically realistic geometries. We use diffuse optical tomography (DOT) with the Toast++ package to reconstruct optical parameters in 3D space within a printed mouse to show the applicability of the phantoms for developing whole animal optical imaging methods. ...
