...It does a decent job predicting 10 to 20 years ahead. Beyond that the input parameters fertility rate, marriage age and mortality rates could change in an unpredictable manner. The tool could also be useful and fun for a student, for anyone curious about near-future demographics or CO2 emissions, or curious amateurs. Since it's Open Source (<2000 lines of Python code) you can make your own changes. It runs from the command line and should run on any (MS WIndows, Linux/Unix/Mac OSX) platform running Python 3. A non-Python MS Windows pre-compiled Popppy executable/binary is included for those who just want to run it without having the bother of installing Python 3.x or not wanting to change the source code. -

We needed a datalogger, we found one. But the supplied VB6 program was very crappy, _really_ unusable, even on old XP machines. So I did mine, able to run under windows and linux. All the fun was to reverse the (binary) RS232 protocol. Our is a YC-727D with 2 thermocouple inputs, but the protocol is the same for 1, 2, 3 or 4 inputs models (YC-717, YC-727, YC-737, YC-747). Bytes orders needs to be checked for 3th and 4nd channels tough. -

...I'm planning a huge multiplayer world, some blobs played by people holding a bendable loop game controller (tape a 1 meter cut of thick extension cord into a loop) in front of webcam and bend it to bend your blob on screen, and other blobs controlled by AI. This is a game for general AI research in a fun way people can do together. The physics and vision algorithm is half working in version 0.3.0. The gameplay is better experienced in 0.2 which is controlled with the mouse so you dont have enough freedom of movement compared to webcam. This small file contains its own source code including occamserver, a tiny general java server I built which I'll adjust to allow http streaming connections to stay open for faster ajax than a new web call each time. ... -

...Expression evaluation and signature matching is based on an internal bytecode compiler and interpreter, types are statically checked at compile time. It may seem a bit overkill, but it is fun to write and it has some practical advantages. :) The project is work in progress. Basically it is a toy, it is not optimized nor thoroughly tested, and it supports only few built-in types. I have written it just for experimenting and to try some ideas. It runs on Windows and Linux. You will need to have Flex/Bison and GMTL to compile it. -
