    UnsupervisedMT

    UnsupervisedMT

Phrase-Based & Neural Unsupervised Machine Translation

...Training relies on denoising auto-encoding and back-translation, with on-the-fly, multithreaded generation of synthetic parallel data to continually refresh supervision signals. The project also provides scripts to fetch and preprocess monolingual data, learn BPE codes, and train cross-lingual embeddings that bootstrap unsupervised alignment between languages. Beyond the core EMNLP 2018 setup, the codebase exposes additional, optional capabilities such as multi-language training, language model pretraining with shared parameters, and adversarial training.

    MSTgold

Estimate minimum spanning trees with statistical bootstrap support

Minimum spanning tree (MST) algorithms can generate multiple, equally-minimal, MSTs but MST programs typically report only one, arbitrarily chosen MST. Similarly, most MST programs do not provide statistical metrics to support the credibility of the MSTs that they estimate. MSTgold estimates the number of alternative MSTs, reports up to a user-determined number of those trees, reports a consensus tree, and implements a bootstrapping metric to assess the reliability of alternate MST...

    PhEq_bootstrap

FDA's f2 computation with bootstrap technique

This program was developed as a help in establishing pharmaceutical equivalence by use of FDA f2 coefficient. It was designed to help with f2 computation in cases when intra- and inter-batch variability is large, namely RSD>10%. The use of statistical bootstrap technique allows to implement confidence interval (CI) into the f2 coefficients resulting in overcoming of their major drawback in the original metrics. The algorithm provides possible “worst case scenario” of f2 values, thus supporting claim about pharmaceutical equivalence. The target users are researchers from industry and academia dealing with pharmaceutical equivalence problem. ...

Based on the not-so-successful Pysimony (https://sourceforge.net/projects/pysimony/), the same determined student takes another go at the phylogenetic problem. Javamony is invoked as follows: java -jar Javamony.jar [input.fasta] [random / stepwise (starting tree)] [# of bootstraps] [outgroup taxon #1] [outgroup taxon #2] ... Not meant as a competitive phylogenetic inference program, Javamony is an opportunity for me to acquire the Java language while learning to address and solve...
