This project deals with a new concept of the heterogeneous grid for acceleration of the numerical linear algebra computing. We design this grid with respect to maximal ratio between cost and computational power. It allows a parallelization of scientific codes with minimal programming effort. We also optimize grid concept to be less sensitive to network parameters. -

Python script that produces a tight pdf from gnuplot with psfrag text.
Gnuplot is a widely known script based free plotting program. This script (gpt2pdf) makes it possible to generate pdf figures with 2D LaTeX maths on top of it by including psfrag replacements directly as comments in the gnuplot file. The resulting pdf file doesn't contain any extra white-spaces around it and as such can be comfortably included in any (pdf)LaTeX file. Convert GPS-Tracks to KML
Convert GPS-Tracks user-saved tracks to KML files for Google Earth.
...This little Java applet provides the functionality to convert these saved tracks to KML files, for use with Google earth. Under Windows, it uses the synced files from the iTunes phone files backup, and extracts the tracks from there. Under Linux, it uses the virtual file system provided by libgpod (which provides an iPhone-gvfs-bridge) and gvfs-fuse (which offers gvfs virtual filesystems as Linux FUSE filesystems). Please note that this app is rather rudimentary. If you run into problems, please open a ticket to describe the issue; time permitting, I'll try to fix it. -

Swift is a DNA sequence alignment program that produces gapped alignment using the Smith-Waterman algorithm. It takes in a query file (FASTA format) and a reference file (FASTA format) as input.
