    Arduino Primary Avionics Module (A-PAM)

    Arduino Primary Avionics Module (A-PAM)

A foundational avionics system for model rockets

..., the motors themselves tend to be rather expensive. My goal was to develop a system that could be used by high school students. It would involve proven rocket designs that could be flown on school yards. That meant it needed to be small, fitting everything into a body tube with a diameter no more than 42mm. This would allow it to use “D” or “E” motors. It would need to be flexible. I wanted the design to be a starting point to allow them to conduct real science and it had to be inexpensive.

An Arduino-based Altitude and IMU Payload for Model Rocketry

The Olympus Project is an engineering project that utilizes an Arduino Nano microcontroller to create an electronic payload that records altitude, g-forces experienced by the rocket, as well as roll rate. Included with the code is a 132 page Project Manual that takes you through the design and construction of the electronic payload. It also includes sections on the construction of the Estes Olympus rocket. A detailed code review of each section of code is included. We take a detailed look...
