The ObjectVolume program calculates the volume, surface area and centroid of a closed triangular mesh represented in an object file (.obj). The process goes through the list of triangles that make up the surface and, for each triangle, forms a tetrahedron with an external point. The program uses the origin (0,0,0). The volume of the tetrahedron is then calculated. Tetrahedrons with back facing triangles are added and those with forward facing triangles are subtracted yielding the object volume. ...The purpose of my program is to simplify publishing by doing the publishing with the AutoCAD Core Console (accoreconsole.exe), add automatic date stamps to the output file names, and allowing the user to publish multiple sets in series or in parallel. The console is significantly faster than using regular AutoCAD, and publishing through the console doesn't tie up AutoCAD. One can publish drawings in the background while still using AutoCAD. The ability to queue publishing jobs also means one doesn't need to babysit the computer while publishing. Queue up 20 sets, hit Publish, and walk away from the computer. All of the PDF files will be waiting for you when you come back. The ability to publish multiple jobs in parallel can dramatically speed up the publishing process, but a solid state hard drive is strongly recommended. -

lightweight GPU-based sparse matrix-vector multiplication (SpMV)
LightSpMV is a novel CUDA-compatible sparse matrix-vector multiplication (SpMv) algorithm using the standard compressed sparse row (CSR) storage format. We have evaluated LightSpMV using various sparse matrices and further compared it to the CSR-based SpMV subprograms in the state-of-the-art CUSP and cuSPARSE. Performance evaluation reveals that on a single Tesla K40c GPU, LightSpMV is superior to both CUSP and cuSPARSE, with a speedup of up to 2.60 and 2.63 over CUSP, and up to 1.93 and 1.79 over cuSPARSE for single and double precision, respectively. -

A simulator for self-organizing video replication and more
...We tackle these problems by introducing a bio-inspired algorithm, which lets the content place itself where it is needed. It is robust, scalable and adaptive. The transport path of content is exploited to replicate content and limited storage space is handled by clean-up mechanisms. We implemented a simulator to show the algorithm's performance and to test its behavior under real circumstances. It is easily extendable to support several new scenarios or changes to the algorithm (see replication and client models).
