GNU SPICE GUI provides a GUI front-end for various freely available electronic circuit simulation engines ie. NG-SPICE and GNU-CAP. It's core function is to generate simulation engine instructions based on user input. However, it also offers extra functionality via applications and utilities developed by others. Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool suites are used to provide schematic capture and editing, and schematic to netlist conversion. Waveform data viewers are used to display simulation results and PDF viewers to display user manuals.

BoltGenerator is an automated CAD tool which produces 3D bolts per ISO and ASME specifications, built using OpenCASCADE and Qt technologies. Users select their desired thread, head type, and length. Upon export, a fully-featured CAD part is generated in real-time and written to the universal STEP format. The exported files are consistently named based on user selections, making creation and organization simple.

Cap analysis of gene expression (CAGE) is a sequencing based technology to capture the 5’ ends of RNAs in a biological sample. After mapping, a CAGE peak on the genome indicates the position of an active transcriptional start site (TSS) and the number of reads correspond to its expression level. CAGE is prominently used in both the FANTOM and ENCODE project.
