This tool was intended to be run under OpenWrt (so it's small and has no dependencies) but it can be also built/run under most other *nixes and Windows. It's very easy to use, run it with -h or --help argument to see a brief howto. I hope someone finds it useful.

Asterix UDP multicast recorder
This program is capable of subscribing to an UDP multicast feed containing (live) radar data in Eurocontrol Asterix format. The received UDP frames are stored in a recording file. A new (raw) Asterix recording file can be created every x minutes. The previously recorded Asterix filename contains date and timestamp. This tool can be used to do continuous 24/7 Asterix multicast recordings.

itom is an open source software suite for operating measurement systems, laboratory automation and data evaluation. One main application of itom is the development and operation of sensor and measurement system for instance in a laboratory environment. Therefore, the software has to be able to communicate with a wide range of different hardware systems, such as cameras or actuators and should provide a diversified and as complete as possible set of evaluation and data processing methods. Send genuine application traffic to simulate a busy network
The "transmit application network traffic" (xant) tool is a network traffic generator, which sends *real* application traffic over the network to simulate a busy enterprise network. Most other traffic generators send random data to saturate links or simulate heavy network usage. This is fine to test link load or firewall rulesets, but is not capable of dealing with an application proxy or Cisco NBAR. Certainly there are professional network simulation tools available (like NS-2), which are time-consuming to set up when working with a small-scale prototype lab network.

WindMeasuring is a handy and easy to use application designed to record data from Thies Clima ultrasonic anemometers. WindMeasuring displays information about the wind speed, direction and the virtual temperature. It features data logging of the saved data and uses COM port connections.

SimAssem is a tool for investigating the performances of species richness estimators across widely ranging assemblages and survey designs. Assemblages are simulated by specifying the: 1) number of species, 2) total abundance of individuals, 3) abundance distribution, 4) spatial configuration, 5) species detection probabilities, 6) survey design, and 7) number of grid cells to survey (out of a square grid comprised of 10,000 cells). SimAssem also processes existing encounter data and formats existing and simulated encounter data for other programs. SimAssem, along with the open source code, will hopefully give researchers and managers a tool for assessing the development of new estimators and evaluating potential decisions in a simulated environment. More information on SimAssem is given in Chapter 2, 'SimAssem: a program for simulating species assemblages and estimating species richness', in the dissertation 'Simulating species assemblages and evaluating species richness estimators'.
