Free Video Projector/Monitor Calibration Software
Video Projector/Monitor Calibration Software orginally developed as ColorHCFR. This code base is based off version 2.1 and will aim for a more open development process. The opensource version integrates an ArgyllCMS interface for continued meter support and development. If you feel the program has been of value to you since I started working on it about 3 years ago please consider a contribution via the link below. Thanks! -zoyd https://www.paypal.me/zoyd
IEC 60870-5-104 protocol tester.
This software implements the IEC60870-5-104 protocol (client side) for substation data acquisition and control via tcp/ip network using the QT UI Framework. It can be compiled on Linux and Windows platforms. It's possible to poll and view data from the substation system (RTU/concentrator) and also send commands.
This is a simple BACnet Browser that currently only sends a Who-Is message and builds a tree of Devices when it receives an I-Am message. It then allows a list of diagnostic routines to be run.
Microcontroller based PC Oscilloscope
PPMScope is a do-it-yourself oscilloscope with an open source design. The intent is that the project can be constructed by an electronics hobbiest using the instructions included. The design is a compromise between features and cost. The bandwidth is lower than a commercial scope, so it's use is limited to signals of 500 kHz and below. It's sample buffer is also smaller than a commercial scope, however sufficient for most oscilloscope functions. This is a version based on the PIC16F877A microcontroller running with a 20MHz clock. The maximum sampling rate is 1 MHz with a 5 Mhz equivalent sampling mode. Currently, the computer interface supports USB, serial, and parallel ports. Good luck on the construction and I hope you enjoy your oscilloscope. I am happy to answer any questions or provide technical support for this design.
Profiling and analysis of laser beams with ImageJ
This open-source software enables profiling and analysis of laser beams. It can be used with a variety of cameras supported by ImageJ and Micro-Manager, or images from any other source. It provides all common analysis methods like D4Sigma, knife-edge, as well as fitting of Hermite-Gauss and super-Gauss functions.
pyOBD-II (a.k.a. "pyobd2") is a Python library for communicating with OBD-II vehicles. Its goal is to make writing programs for vehicle diagnostics and monitoring vehicle data as easy as possible. Relies on pySerial to communicate with ELM scanners.
The sigrok project aims at creating a portable, cross-platform, Free/Libre/Open-Source signal analysis software suite that supports various device types, such as logic analyzers, MSOs, oscilloscopes, multimeters, LCR meters, sound level meters, thermometers, anemometers, light meters, dataloggers, function generators, power supplies, GPIB interfaces, and more.

Serial communication utility
COM Studio utility helps to develop and test a serial communication protocol for embedded application like USART or RS232. COM studio is a cross platform application developed on top of QSerial device using the QT library. With COM studio is possible to create a set of command frames to be sent to the COM port and decode the answers coming from the device. The serial protocol can be fully customized with a graphical user interface. This software is OPEN SOURCE and released under GPL license so you can feel FREE to use, copy, share, (but above all) to study, analyze and modify it as you like (within the terms of the license). If you like, hate or simply use this software, if you find any bug or have any request, please do not hesitate to let me know through the services offered by the site that hosts the project or through my Facebook page (http://facebook.com/koalakoker). And (if you think it's the case) do not hesitate to recommend the program to your friends.
itom - an Open Source Measurement, Automation and Evaluation Software
itom is an open source software suite for operating measurement systems, laboratory automation and data evaluation. One main application of itom is the development and operation of sensor and measurement system for instance in a laboratory environment. Therefore, the software has to be able to communicate with a wide range of different hardware systems, such as cameras or actuators and should provide a diversified and as complete as possible set of evaluation and data processing methods. Additionally, the rapid prototyping of modern measurement and inspection setups requires a system, where parameters or components can easily be changed at runtime, necessitating the availability of an embedded scripting language. Finally, when operating a measurement system, it is also desirable to extend the graphical user interface by system adapted dialogs and windows.
jRCaLc is a program designed to aid you in working with resistors.
jRCaLc is a resistor calculator outfitted with various tools, meant to aid in work related to resistors.
This LabView project includes a Web Service (WS) and website interface hosted by a LabView server. The WS and website allow clients to acquire measurements from instruments remotely in real time, using standard browsers (e.g. iPhone) without plugins.
DVB translator is a tool which allows analyses of transport stream packets
Open Source Implementations for 3D-Surface Characterisation Algorithms according to ISO 25178 (Geometric Product Specification) in verifiable pseudocode (MATLAB). Implementation of an XML-based file exchange format according to upcoming ISO 25178-72.
Parser for measurement data in mdf format
Python implementation of a mdf file reader Aim of the project is to implement a parser that can be used in Python based application which work on mdf data. MDF means Measure Data Format and is a binary format for measurement in the automaitve area
A GUI library for designing gauges, meters, oscilloscopes, plotters
A library that is intended for designing high-quality industrial control widgets for Ada applications. The widgets are composed of transparent layers drawn by cairo. The widgets are fully scalable graphics. A time controlled refresh policy is supported for real-time and heavy-duty applications. The library supports caching graphical operations and stream I/O for serialization and deserialization. Ready-to-use gauge, meter, oscilloscope widgets are provided as samples as well as an editor widget for WYSIWYG design of complex dashboards. The software is based on GtkAda and cairoada, the Ada bindings to GTK+ and cairo.

For processing and/or simulating species assemblage data.
SimAssem is a tool for investigating the performances of species richness estimators across widely ranging assemblages and survey designs. Assemblages are simulated by specifying the: 1) number of species, 2) total abundance of individuals, 3) abundance distribution, 4) spatial configuration, 5) species detection probabilities, 6) survey design, and 7) number of grid cells to survey (out of a square grid comprised of 10,000 cells). SimAssem also processes existing encounter data and formats existing and simulated encounter data for other programs. SimAssem, along with the open source code, will hopefully give researchers and managers a tool for assessing the development of new estimators and evaluating potential decisions in a simulated environment. More information on SimAssem is given in Chapter 2, 'SimAssem: a program for simulating species assemblages and estimating species richness', in the dissertation 'Simulating species assemblages and evaluating species richness estimators'.
Rough internet speed testing tool (CLI)
This tool was intended to be run under OpenWrt (so it's small and has no dependencies) but it can be also built/run under most other *nixes and Windows. It's very easy to use, run it with -h or --help argument to see a brief howto. I hope someone finds it useful.
