Accurately predicts disease association of single nucleotide mutations
GESPA (GEnomic Single nucleotide Polymorphism Analyzer) is a bioinformatics tool for classifying Nonsynonymous Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (nsSNPs). GESPA predicts if a nsSNP is pathogenic using reports from literature and various algorithms to assess conservation in orthologous and paralogous protein alignments. Using reports from literature, GESPA is also able to predict the phenotype of a nsSNP with high accuracy. The software can be used clinically to determine if observed nsSNPs are associated with disease. A host of annotations are provided: orthologous and paralogous multiple sequence alignments, UCSC annotations, reports detailing conservation of a nsSNP in alignments, and links to external nsSNP and gene information such as relevant publications. GESPA is connected to a constantly updating SQL server allowing for fast data retrieval. NOTE: REQUIRES Java 1.7.0+. Port 1433 cannot be blocked by firewall, network, or antivirus program. Neural Networks Collection
This project implements in C++ a bunch of known Neural Networks. So far the project implements: LVQ in several variants, SOM in several variants, Hopfield network and Perceptron. Other neural network types are planned, but not implemented yet. The project can run in two modes: command line tool and Python 7.2 extension. Currently, Python version appears more functional, as it allows easy interaction with algorithms developed by other people.

Applications for data management
"Information is data in action", and, consequently, having good quality data is essential. The AESTEL package contains two highly configurable applications for data management: A data loader and a reporting application, i.e. DataLoader and AEREA, respectively. The data loader application applies user-defined instructions to validate, process and load data. The reporting application provides a query builder and spreadsheet template designer. Both applications work with any relational data model. (Postgres and Oracle have been tested). The two applications have been initially developed for small molecule drug discovery research. However, they can be extended for use in other data domains.
