Simulation and Control of Processing Plants
RTC (Real Time Control) is a program of M. Mulholland (2015). This is a simple interactive simulator including 20 different applications for such aspects as PID and DMC controller tuning, advanced level control, Smith prediction, Kalman filtering, and control strategies for a furnace, a boiler, and a hybrid system. A tutorial gives brief background to the theory and programming of each application, plus a stepwise set of objectives to illustrate the main features. The simulations include a number of the techniques described in Applied Process Control – Essential Methods, and that book’s accompanying volume, Applied Process Control – Efficient Problem Solving. Actually, RTC is not merely a suite of simulations: Each application can be switched from “MODEL” to “PLANT” mode for real-time control of equipment through a somewhat basic interfacing arrangement. In “MODEL” mode, time can be accelerated or frozen.

Search and download satellite images
RS Downloader offers access to satellite image data pools. Via web interface the user is able to search and download specified satellite images. This version is an alpha and while running stable, currently only retrieves products from NASAs LP DAAC data pool (see https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/data_access/data_pool). Further versions will include updated parsers and spatial selection UIs to access other available sources.

A FDTD solver for electromagnetic wave simulations on a GPU cluster
KEMP is a fast FDTD solver on a GPU-based cluster. The FDTD (Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method is a popular numerical method for electromagnetic field simulations. KEMP enables hardware accelerations suitable for multi-GPU, multi-core CPU and GPU cluster. KEMP also provide easy configuration by using Python scripting language.

CEF3D (Finite Element Calculation in 3D)
CEF3D (Finite Element Calculation in 3D) is intented as a finite elements method software, with aplication oriented to civil and structural engineer, it is designed in two modules, one for analisys and another for design, all under GNU license. Some of the features (now in develop ) include multi load case, load combinations, plate, membrane and shell elements, springs. Asignnemento of restraints like diaphrams or rigid bodies. A future version will include dinamic and non linear analysis. Continuos improvements are mede in the graphic user interface. The goal is to provide a full capable software to the analysis and design of structures, as an open source and freeware package. NOTE. Is clear the the correct use and interpretations of the results requires the participation of an professional experienced structural civil engineer, if the software are going to be used in real proyects.
Software for instrumenting a Dobsonian telescope
This projects hold software required for instrumenting an alt-az telescope mount. The required hardware is documented here (http://simonbox.info/index.php/astronomy). The software enables real time conversion from (measured) alt-az to ra-dec and manages a connection to Stellarium (http://www.stellarium.org/), which allows you to view where the telescope is pointing in a virtual planetarium.

Warning, EMTGv8 is no longer supported by NASA GSFC. Furthermore, we are no longer able to supply a binary version. However, if anyone wants to use the source code for EMTGv8 and compile it yourself against a recent available SNOPT, we wish you the best. This will require some C++ programming skills and the ability to work with a complex build system. Some day in the future we hope to release EMTGv9 open-source, but for a variety of reasons it is not possible to do that right now.
