MaxFem is an open software package for electromagnetic simulation by using finite element methods. The package can solve problems in electrostatics, direct current, magnetostatics and eddy-currents. We have moved the installers to the MaxFEM website (see below). In order to improve MaxFEM, we will require you to fill out a simple form before downloading them.

GaussianBeam computes the profile propagation of a Gaussian laser beam through a set of lenses.
An optimized C library for numerically solving exterior ballistics problems. It supports standard drag models (Drag Functions G1-G8). The solution method is the common "3 degree of freedom" analysis found in many commercial programs.
VHF-UHF propagation prediction and radio coverage analysis tool.
QRadioPredict is an experimental software for VHF-UHF propagation prediction and radio coverage analysis. Currently it works on Linux and Windows 32 bit (Vista tested). Can be used as a repeater site planing tool. Uses OpenStreetMap tiles or public sattelite imagery as background. Elevation profiles are taken from NASA 1 degree SRTM 3 arcsec elevation files (*.hgt) obtainable from various sources. Uses a new algorithm for glound clutter attenuation prediction, based on a ray model. Terrain type data is taken from Corine CLC2006 shapefiles, which gives great accuracy for all of Europe, or from any other land cover data such as VMAP0 shapefiles. Has an internal APRS client which can be used to display stations as a landmark. Can use antenna radiation patterns generated by 4NEC2 or other NEC2 compatible antenna modelling programs. QRadioPredict can operate as a traditional standalone program or can be connected to Flightgear for real-time radio analysis.
OpenFlower is a free and open source CFD code (for Linux and Windows) mainly intended to solve the turbulent incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with a LES approach. It can deal with arbitrary complex 3D geometries with its finite volume approach.
Antenna Radiation Diagram Plotter - Polar plots of measured EM emission, with a proper radial axis scaling and span. Three source files (plain text) can be loaded and plotted at the same time. Export to file or clipboard.
The Orientation Library is a collection of routines for rotation/orientation manipulation. It ranges from general tools to others for crystal orientations. It is written in C and is well-documented. An interactive program enables to run the routines.
Object-oriented crystallographic library and program, for the analysis of Crystal structures from scattering experiments: optimized scattering computation, Graphical interface for structures and data, global optimization algorithms.
Software for molecular simulations and trajectory analysis
We are proud to introduce version 3 of CAMPARI. This is a big step from version 2 primarily due to the comprehensive OpenMP (threads parallelism) support and due to significant improvements in both usability and performance. We have also again added a number of new algorithms from the recent literature, and CAMPARI of course continues to support the ABSINTH force field paradigm and implicit solvation model. CAMPARI is a joint package for performing and analyzing molecular simulations, in particular of polymers of biological relevance. It focuses on a wide availability of algorithms for (advanced) sampling and is capable of combining Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics sampling in seamless fashion. CAMPARI offers the user a very high level of control over all implemented features. For more information and features, please refer to the project's homepage at http://campari.sourceforge.net. Version 2 is no longer actively maintained but the final version continues to be available.
MRCWA - Multilayer Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis is a fast, flexible optical grating solver. It calculates an exact solution to the Maxwell equations for the diffraction of light from an optical grating with arbitrary profile and materials.
JEquation provides an intuitive and fast way to input mathematical expressions into latex documents by using prestructured neural network based handwriting recognition.

Acoustic Simulation Library for Frequency and Time Domain Simulations.
ART is a flexible simulation framework for wind instruments. It includes a growing library of modelling elements. So far bore discontinuities, branches, tone holes, cylindrical and conical tubes, Bessel horns and bent tubes are available for frequency domain modelling. In the time domain generic bidirectional propagation elements, scattering elements, fractional delays, convolution with reflection functions and general z-domain networks are available and can be described using MuParserX expressions. Cylindrical and conical ducts can also be defined based on their geometry. Available models and their parameters can be enumerated and combined to form simulators for complex acoustical structures. Parameters can be specified symbolically by expressions containing other parameter values or global variables. Dependencies between parameters are resolved at run time. However, MuParserX expressions are compiled at design time. Zero-delay loops are detected and reported.
FreeFOAM is no longer maintained. Please consider using one of the official OpenFOAM distributions instead.
