    Wave Simulation

    Wave Simulation

    Physically correct simulation of 2D-waves

    UPDATED VERSION ON GITHUB! http://github.com/AtiX/wavesim This is a physically correct simulation of waves on a surface, for example water-waves. It can also be used to simulate Microwaves, and has features like the support for different refraction indices, different wave sources and custom borders. Therefore, experiments like the double-slit-experiment can be easily simulated.

    WavePacket (C++/Python)

    WavePacket (C++/Python)

    Time-dependent simulation of open and closed quantum systems

    WavePacket is a program package for numerical simulation of quantum-mechanical wavepacket dynamics of distinguishable particles. It can be used to solve single or coupled time-independent or time-dependent (linear) Schrödinger and Liouville-von Neumann-equations. Optionally accounting for the interaction with external electric fields within the semiclassical dipole approximation, WavePacket can be used to simulate modern experiments involving ultrashort light pulses in photo-induced physics or chemistry. WavePacket is suitable for teaching quantum mechanics as well as for research projects in physics and chemistry. The present C++ version is an object-oriented rewrite of the existing Matlab version aiming to be more flexible. In particular, the goals are easy handling of open and closed systems and support for unusual setups.

    epics-sequencer-HZB

    A git mirror of the EPICS sequencer application

    The EPICS sequencer This project is a component of the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS), a set of tools, libraries and applications developed collaboratively and used worldwide to create distributed soft real-time control systems for large scale scientific instruments. The State Notation Language (SNL), is a domain specific programming language that smoothly integrates with and depends and builds on EPICS base. This project defines SNL and provides an implementation, consisting of the SNL compiler and runtime system. The project is published under the EPICS open source license. freesrs

    python library for shock response spectrum (SRS) analysis.

    The shock response spectrum (SRS) allows to estimate transient acceleration signals in terms of a maximum response of a dynamic vibration system. Its origin probably dates from civil engineering and the problem of seismic excitations, i.e. earthquake response of buildings, see Clough Penzien 1975. The SRS is a spectrum, i.e. a curve giving the maximum acceleration response depending on frequency. It is derived from a 1-mass-spring-damper vibration system being excited by a base excitation, i.e. an acceleration. freesrs calculates the shock response spectrum (SRS) and is a small library with Python and Fortran files. The Fortran files consist of • SmallwoodFilter.f and • GenShockTimeHistories.f They are linked to Python by using the comfortable f2py tool. Latest version is 2.1.0, including now the ability to perform a full install via setup.py. Library (.pyd) and executable have

    hadronic gamma rays

    gamma rays from hadronic processes in astrophysics

    Cosmic-ray hadronic interaction matrices for gamma-ray and other secondaries for an interstellar medium target are available as described in Huang et al. Astroparticle Physics, 27, 429 (2007). These require significant effort in practice to compute emissivities for given input spectra. To supplement these matrices I provide here a C++ class which reads the matrices, interpolates on user-defined particle and gamma-ray energy grids, and computes the gamma-ray emissivity either differential or in user-defined bands. A sample user program is provided which can be edited to provide the required functionality. See also http://sourceforge.net/projects/galprop, which includes more models.

    stellarics

    Inverse Compton emission from heliospheres of sun and stars

    Cosmic ray electrons scatter on the photon fields around stars, including the sun, to create gamma rays by the inverse Compton effect. This program computes the spectrum and angular distribution of this emission. The software also includes general-purpose routines for inverse Compton scattering on a given electron spectrum, for example for interstellar or astrophysical source modelling.
