a parametric 3D CAD modeler
WARNING: FreeCAD has moved! FreeCAD code and release files are now hosted on github at https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD Only older files and code are available here. FreeCAD is a general purpose feature-based, parametric 3D modeler for CAD, MCAD, CAx, CAE and PLM, aimed directly at mechanical engineering and product design but also fits a wider range of uses in engineering, such as architecture or other engineering specialties. It is 100% Open Source and extremely modular, allowing for very advanced extension and customization. FreeCAD is based on OpenCasCade, a powerful geometry kernel, features an Open Inventor-compliant 3D scene representation model provided by the Coin 3D library, and a broad Python API. The interface is built with Qt. FreeCAD runs exactly the same way on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux platforms.
A cross-platform, open-source, alternative to NIST REFPROP. Based on reference-accuracy equations of state and transport property correlations for refrigerants like Water, CO2, R134a, Nitrogen, Argon, Ammonia, Air, R404a, R410a, Propane and many others. A selection of secondary working fluid properties are also available. Can also make use of REFPROP when available. In addition, calculations for Humid Air Properties based on ASHRAE RP-1485 are provided. Wrappers are available for MATLAB, Octave, Python, C#, Fortran and many more.
SUMO is a microscopic road traffic simulation.
SUMO is an open source, highly portable, microscopic and continuous road traffic simulation package designed to handle large road networks. It allows for intermodal simulation including pedestrians and comes with a large set of tools for scenario creation. Please note that code and issue tracker are now at https://github.com/DLR-TS/sumo/
DXF2GCODE: converting 2D dxf drawings to CNC machine compatible G-Code
DXF2GCODE is a tool for converting 2D (dxf, pdf, ps) drawings to CNC machine compatible GCode. Windows, Linux, and Mac support by using python scripting language.
Open Source CAM - Toolpath Generation for 3-Axis CNC machining
Inkcut is a program used to send HPGL directly to cutter or plotter from Inkscape. Inkcut is used for sign making, namely cutting vinyl graphics, letters, and decals. It should support any device that uses HPGL.
An STL format importer/exporter plugin script for Google SketchUp. Supports both binary and ASCII import and export.
A graphical tool to design a bicycle (s) geometry and derive drawings from its configuration
This small program can help you to calculate optimal cut of rectangular details. It can be used to design cutting out of wood, glass, steel and other material.
Static and Dynamic Structural Analysis of 2D and 3D frames.
FRAME3DD is a program for the static and dynamic structural analysis of two- and three-dimensional frames and trusses with elastic and geometric stiffness.
Impact is an explicit Finite Element Program Suite which simulates dynamic impact events. It has a range of elements, contact handling and different material laws. Models can be created, solved and analyzed with the included pre- and postprocessor. Impact is based on an Explicit Time stepping algorithm. These kind of codes are used to simulate dynamic phenomena such as car crashes and similar, usually involving large deformations.
Simple CAD program
ZCAD is simple CAD program with dxf2000 file format support. Source code available here http://svn.shamangrad.net/zcad/trunk/
EdytorNC is text editor for CNC programmers. Some features : bolt holes calculation; solutions of triangles calculation; speed, feed calculation; conversion inch/mm, mm/inch; code colouring; RS232 data transmission with automatic file saving and possibility to download new CNC program directly from machine (beta function, look in tool tips in serial port configuration dialog). Clipboard to keep texts from system clipboard.
A civil engineer tool for uneven / custom weir calculations
The tool is created to calculate the stage-discharge relationship, i.e. the rating curve, of an uneven/custom weir. The tool was developed using Visual Studio 2008, and the crystal report was used to generate a report. To view and print the analysis report, the crystal report runtime is required. The crystal report installer, CRRedist2008_x64.msi (for 64-bit operation system) and CRRedist2008_x86.msi (for 32-bit operation system), are both available for download.
A viewer for Eurocontrol Asterix files
AsterixInspector - displays contents of files in Eurocontrol Asterix format. Asterix is a binary data exchange format in aviation, standardized by Eurocontrol.
This software supports programming of Atmel microcontrollers 89Sxx ('51), ATtiny, ATmega and 90Sxx (AVR). It can erase built-in Flash and EEPROM memories as well as read and program them. ISP Programmer also supports serial Atmel DataFlash memories.
TexGen is a geometric textile modelling software package to be used for obtaining engineering properties of woven textiles and textile composites.
