SAGA - System for Automated Geoscientific Analyses - is a Geographic Information System (GIS) software with immense capabilities for geodata processing and analysis. SAGA is programmed in the object oriented C++ language and supports the implementation of new functions with a very effective Application Programming Interface (API). This project hosts various plugins for the OpenCPN chart plotter, which are not bundled with the core package. OpenCPN is a free software (GPLv2) project to create a concise chart plotter and navigation software, for use underway or as a planning tool. OpenCPN is developed by a team of active sailors using real world conditions for program testing and refinement.

Automated detection of the unknown early map projection
New scientific software supporting the automated detection of the early map projection and its parameters. Useful for studying and analysis of different kinds of maps with the lack of information about the map projection. QNetMap is the library for displaying the map and the objects on it
The project has moved to GitHub (see https://github.com/vasyutin/qnetmap). The project is based on the QMapControl library (http://qmapcontrol.sourceforge.net/) by Kai Winter. To show the map QNetMap can use different providers like OpenStreetMap or other WMS servers. The map data can be downloaded from the Internet or from the disk cache. User's own raster maps can also be used. QNetMap supports layers so you can mix maps from different servers. To enrich the map presentation you can draw your own objects in the given coordinates.
