Simulates a vessel, including generation of NMEA 0183 sentences
This program is intended to be used for testing navigation software, in particular software using the NMEA 0183 standard sentences. The software simulates a vessel moving across the surface of the earth and has modules which generate NMEA GPS sentences as well as Compass Heading sentences. The program includes a TCP/IP NMEA server which takes the generated sentences and distributes sentences received from one peer to all other peers that have registered with the server (by connecting to port 2222) All modules can be used as a complete system for testing navigation applications which expect to consume NMEA 0183 sentences or individual modules can be used to integrate into your own application. The code is written in Ruby and requires Visual Ruby to be installed and working as well as the excellent Event Machine gem.

The Semi-Automatic OS is a lightweight OS designed for the land cover classification of remote sensing images. It includes the Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin for QGIS 2.8, already configured along with all the required dependencies (OGR, GDAL, Numpy, SciPy, and Matplotlib). The Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin is a free plugin that allows for the semi-automatic supervised classification of remote sensing images, providing tools to expedite the creation of ROIs and the classification process. The Semi-Automatic OS is based on Debian 8, and it is designed to require very little hardware resources. It uses LXDE and Openbox as main desktop environment. At the moment, the Semi-Automatic OS is available as a virtual machine.

Oceantron is a web server dedicated to the dissemination of ocean in-situ observations. Each oceanotron's instance is meant to be a hub connecting observation data stored in local storage infrastructure (file system, RDBMS, ...) and native format (ascii, netcdf) to user's applications on the network, through standard web services (opendap, ogc). The deployment of oceanotron instances will establish a network of ocean observation shared by communities (access control management is on the plan).

Batch convert Lat/Long to UTM for Zone 19
This simple R code converts GPS coordinates from Decimal Degrees or Degrees Minutes Seconds format to Northings and Eastings in UTM Zone 19. Coordinates should be entered as a .csv containing the column names "Latitude" and "Longitude" (capitalization does not matter). The code was designed primarily for use by researchers at the University of Maine working on the Penobscot River, but could be easily modified to handle other UTM Zones.

a space-time interpolation geostatistical tool
This software is a time-aware geostatistical tool. Including time variability adds further issues to the already complicated field of geostatistical interpolation. On the other hand, most of the distributions of variables used in Earth and environmental sciences show patterns of change over time, not only in space. This tool is a free, open-source software, based on a generalization of the Inverse Distance Weighted algorithm. It outputs three-dimensional, layered discrete models from which time series and equal-time GIS Grid layers can be extracted.

FastVersion is a Qgis plugin for data versioning in a Postgis database. This plugin provides data versioning to tables with geometry stored in postgis. It allows to create, changes and eliminate versions, and within each version , to insert, modify and eliminate elements. It is possible carry out the processes of “post” from one version to another, with conflict resolution functionality. The system uses algorithms and data structures so that information is not duplicated each time a version is created. A Landsat 8 scene viewer
Viewpix allows the user to load all eleven bands of a Landsat 8 Level 1 data set into memory concurrently. You can scroll and view each band at full resolution. Change bands instantly with a single key press. Band 8 is 15 meters resolution, all other bands are 30m resolution. A 30m resolution gray scale scene is generated by Viewpix and is presented as band 12. Each Landsat 8 scene is roughly 190 X 180 kilometers. Viewpix was originally written as a simple platform to test GPU software on low end computer systems. This is the "lite" version of Viewpix as it has no cuda filters installed. Viewpix is written in C. It is tested on Ubuntu and Centos. It should work with most current Linux distributions. Viewpix runs efficiently on computers with modest CPU's such as low power mini-ITX boards. It is known to work nicely on Intel NUC, AMD A6 SOC , and NVIDIA TX2. A multiple core cpu, 8 GB ram, and a large capacity hard drive are suggested.
