SAGA - System for Automated Geoscientific Analyses - is a Geographic Information System (GIS) software with immense capabilities for geodata processing and analysis. SAGA is programmed in the object oriented C++ language and supports the implementation of new functions with a very effective Application Programming Interface (API). Functions are organised as modules in framework independent Module Libraries and can be accessed via SAGA’s Graphical User Interface (GUI) or various scripting environments (shell scripts, Python, R, ...). Please provide the following reference in your work if you are using SAGA: Conrad, O., Bechtel, B., Bock, M., Dietrich, H., Fischer, E., Gerlitz, L., Wehberg, J., Wichmann, V., and Boehner, J. GeographicLib is a small set of C++ classes for converting between geographic, UTM, UPS, MGRS, and geocentric coordinates, for gravity (e.g., EGM2008), geoid, and geomagnetic field (e.g., WMM2010) calculations, and for solving geodesic problems. For documentation, visit https://geographiclib.sf.io
OpenCPN: A concise ChartPlotter/Navigator. A cross-platform ship-borne GUI application supporting * GPS/GPDS Postition Input * BSB Raster Chart Display * S57 Vector ENChart Display * AIS Input Decoding * Waypoint Autopilot Navigation
GPS navigation software for Windows Mobile & WinCE devices.
NAVeGIS is a Windows Mobile navigation application for use with custom or open data routable IMG maps.
GPlates is an interactive plate-tectonics visualisation program. GPlates enables interactive visualisation and manipulation of the plate-tectonic reconstructions of geological and paleo-geographic features through geological time.
Geoblock is a program for 3D modeling, database management and visualization of geoscience datasets. It is developed for mineral deposit exploration, ore reserve estimation, mine planning and simulating geotechnical processes in mine sites.
Plugins for OpenCPN
This project hosts various plugins for the OpenCPN chart plotter, which are not bundled with the core package. OpenCPN is a free software (GPLv2) project to create a concise chart plotter and navigation software, for use underway or as a planning tool. OpenCPN is developed by a team of active sailors using real world conditions for program testing and refinement.
Geostatistics and geosciences modeling software
GEOMS2 is a geostatistics and geosciences modeling software. Provides interface for grid (mesh), point, surface and data (non-spatial) objects. It has a 3D viewer and 2D plots using the well known Python engines Mayavi and Matplotlib. It has several functions to manipulate your data as well as provide univariate and multivariate analysis. NOTE: The software is still an early beta. Please tell us if you found a bug. Geodesy based library (geodetic and geocentric functions)
geoStarsLib has functions for dealing with many geodesy-based problems found in positioning, pointing, and surveying situations. It is useful to determine absolute position on the earth, pointing vectors, coordinate transformations, and other functions.

MicroCity is a framework for spatial analysis and simulation. It is lightweight, fast, portable, extendable and user friendly. Users can easily operate large GIS and Grid data and perform Spatial, Fractal, Network analysis and simulation.
The remote sensing and GIS library is a set of C++ libraries and commands for the processing of spatial data (raster, vector and point cloud). Functionality is available through an XML interface, ideal for batch processing. Code is has been moved to https://bitbucket.org/petebunting/rsgislib
A GUI for the freeware Geographical Information System PCRaster
A GUI for the freeware Geographical Information System PCRaster. This is an independent development. Comes with a map editor "mapedit" Can make a link with GDAL for conversions. The GIT repository is available linked to PCRaster and available here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/pcraster/ The code is currently compiled for windows systems but is tested under ubuntu.
Automated detection of the unknown early map projection
New scientific software supporting the automated detection of the early map projection and its parameters. Useful for studying and analysis of different kinds of maps with the lack of information about the map projection. The analysis is based on the minimization of residuals between control points on the early and current reference maps. Designed for cartographers as well as for enthusiasts. Available free of charge. The awareness of the map projection is primarily important for: • refinement of spatial georeference for the medium- and small-scale maps, • analysis of the knowledge about the former world, • location of the incorrectly/inaccurately drawn map regions. Sytem requirements: • 2 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor. • 2 GB RAM (32-bit) or 4 GB RAM (64-bit) system. • 120 MB available hard disk space. • JDK 1.8 +. • Internet connection (download speed > 2Mb/s
