A probabilistic, flexible, and compact 3D mapping library for robotic systems. OctoMap provides efficient occupancy grid mapping in 3D using octrees. OctoMap development has moved to http://octomap.github.com/
Spatial Knowledge Base is a web based application for storing and searching of archaeological sites information. The software was written to improve access to cultural heritage information though the use of digital archiving, search technology, and GIS.
A Matlab software to estimate Euler pole parameters
The EPC software calculates the expected velocities for any points located on the earth’s surface given the relevant Euler pole parameters and estimates the Euler pole parameters given the observed velocities of a set of sites located on the same tectonic plate. Keywords: Direct Euler pole problem, Inverse Euler pole problem
A wildfire decision support system and visualization tool from Emxsys.
The Wildfire Management Tool (WMT) predicts the potential fire behavior of a wildland fire. WMT incorporates a 3D terrain viewer, the tenets of the Campbell Prediction System (CPS) and the Rothermel fire spread equations to depict fire behavior. WMT is used to adjust tactics & strategies to ensure the safety of firefighters and the effective use of firefighting resources. Requires Java 8 (included) - http://www.java.com/download
A program to convert different GPS date formats.
GPS Date Converter (GDC) is a program to convert six different date formats, including: (1) Decimal year, (2) Year, Month, Day, (3) Year, Day of year, (4) GPS Week, Day of week, (5) Julian date, and (6) Modified Julian date. These formats are quiet common in Earth Sciences, specially GPS applications. More information can be found in the GDC website.
A collection of Dokuwiki plugins that will enable the user to spatially enable and use the wiki, currently we have: openlayersmap (a map), geotag (ways of geotagging a page)
Scientific research work of Francesco Montorsi,Univ. of Modena, Italy
This project hosts the code and the documents which were created by Francesco Montorsi during his PhD at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy, about indoor and outdoor localization and navigation techniques. The code (mostly MATLAB code) is publicly available to enable reproducible research.
A software for processing and analyzing time series in Earth Science
Along with calculating basic statistics and quality parameters such as mean and variance, the soft-ware is capable of importing and visualizing different standard time series formats, determining and removing jumps and outliers, and makes numerical and publication quality graphical outputs. Bivariate statistical analysis (including correlation coefficient and linear regression) and time series analysis (including auto and cross-spectral analysis, wavelet power spectrum, spectrogram and periodicities) form the main analysis features of the software.
This SourceForge.net project serves as repository and distribution point for Carbon Five Open Source software and documentation.
GPSBabelWrapper allows the rest of us to use rich functionality of GPSBabel via familiar Windows interface. It only builds a command line and calls GPSBabel. GPSBabelWrapper is similar in goals to Gebabbel and to the standard GPSBabelGUI.exe
Konverting the GIS-Format 'EDBS' to Spatial-Database 'PostGIS' using the 'Well Known Text'-Interface. EDBS is a German Fileformat from ALK (Automatisierte Liegenschaftskarte). So this GIS can be used for UNM-Mapserver and otehr OGC-conform GIS-Programms. Update: After ALK in Germany ist replaced by ALKIS, edbs2wkt will not be further developed. Use http://postnas.org (gdal/ogr) for ALKIS-Interface-Format "NAS".
Simple GPS tracking server
A small server-side application is dedicated to provide TCP-packets response and basic logging functionality from operating low cost commercially available GPS Vehicle Trackers such as Concox GT06N and perhaps others (GT06E and GT06F). The application is using POSIX API and intended to run on Unix, Linux and even Windows systems (cygwin environment). Currently it has been developed and tested on FreeBSD 10.3.
The METAR Repository or simply metarr is a web-mapping service, capable of gathering and visualizing METARs (meteorological aviation routine weather reports). So aeronautical weather information becomes browseable on a map, even for "METAR-illiterate"
Minerva is a program for viewing geospatial data that works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It unifies standard GIS capabilities with high-performance, 3D visualization.
QuakeMap GPS mapping program - see quakemap.com and download free trial there. This is a complete Open Source version (no different in features than the commercial version). You can compile it in Visual Studio 2008, enhance it to fit your needs.
An application can control and manager RoyalTek RBT-1000/1100(BT GPS mini) series Bluetooth GPS receiver using RBIN protocol. The official hardware product website: http://www.royaltek.com/index.php/content/view/99/81/
This program is for downloading and uploading spatial and/or alphanumeric data between an Oracle database and ESRI shape files.
This project exists as a central meeting place for those wishing to share in-house developed applications and tools for local government (and related industries) in Australia.
