a parametric 3D CAD modeler
WARNING: FreeCAD has moved! FreeCAD code and release files are now hosted on github at https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD Only older files and code are available here. FreeCAD is a general purpose feature-based, parametric 3D modeler for CAD, MCAD, CAx, CAE and PLM, aimed directly at mechanical engineering and product design but also fits a wider range of uses in engineering, such as architecture or other engineering specialties. It is 100% Open Source and extremely modular, allowing for very advanced extension and customization. FreeCAD is based on OpenCasCade, a powerful geometry kernel, features an Open Inventor-compliant 3D scene representation model provided by the Coin 3D library, and a broad Python API. The interface is built with Qt. FreeCAD runs exactly the same way on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux platforms.
The Player Project: Player is a networked interface to robots and sensors. Stage and Gazebo are Player-friendly multiple-robot simulators. The software aims for POSIX compliance and runs on most UNIX-like OS's. Some parts also work on Windows.
The Python Computer Graphics Kit is a collection of Python modules that contain the basic types and functions to be able to create 3D computer graphics images (focusing on Pixar's RenderMan interface).
CBFLIB is a library of ANSI-C functions providing a simple mechanism for accessing Crystallographic Binary Files (CBF files) and Image-supporting CIF (imgCIF) files. The CBFLIB API is loosely based on the CIFPARSE API for mmCIF files.
AUTO is a publicly available software for continuation and bifurcation problems in ordinary differential equations originally written in 1980 and widely used in the dynamical systems community.
The Helsinki Finite-State Transducer toolkit is intended for processing natural language morphologies. The toolkit is demonstrated by wide-coverage implementations of a number of languages of varying morphological complexity.
A Library for Interactive Modelling and Visualisation
The OpenCMISS-Zinc Library (opencmiss.org/zinc), or Zinc, is a software library for building interactive graphical modelling and visualisation applications. Models are represented in Zinc as mathematical fields defined over domains, including finite elements with support for high-order basis functions, complex parameter mappings and time variation, and image-based fields. Further fields can be defined by mathematical expressions and algorithms on existing fields, including image processing filters. Zinc model data structures are dynamic, supporting interactive applications which programmatically create, destroy and modify parts of models.
DTMF detector library and/or application that reads in the specified audio file and returns/outputs whether DTMF detected and/or list of detected digits. May have GUI and command line interfaces.
OSTIS - Open Semantic Technology for Intelligent Systems. This is an open project focused on mass semantic technology creation used in component-based design of various intelligent systems.
Open source observatory control software
RTS2 is project to create an open source environment for control of a fully autonomous observatory. It is running about dozen fully autonomous observatories. Its modular design allow easily addition of new devices (to already huge supported HW list).
LinuxCNC controls CNC machines. It can drive milling machines, lathes, 3d printers, laser cutters, plasma cutters, robot arms, hexapods, and more.
ImageJ is a public domain Java image processing program inspired by NIH Image for the Macintosh. It runs, either as an online applet or as a downloadable application, on any computer with a Java 1.1 or later. HOME @ http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/

Sakura is a Knowledge Navigator and User Interface for UNIX, which implements HyperMedia and its own windowing and packing system, both in the main program and in an extensive API for Tcl and other languages.
DesktopTools is a collection of small utillities which help to make your daily life easier. Since the tools themself are rather small (projectwise) I keep them not as individual projects, but have them under this collective name.

Collaborative Computing Project for NMR (CCPN)
The Collaborative Computational Project for NMR (CCPN) provides tools and knowledge to maximise the impact of the biological NMR studies. The CCPN software facilitates data analysis and software integration. The project actively promotes the exchange of knowledge and provides training and best practices for the NMR community. CCPN also has a leading role in the development of a NMR data-sharing standard and coordination of NMR instrumentation proposals for RCUK and BIS. The 28 partners of CCPN jointly cover all aspects of biomolecular NMR and together they promote excellence in science in their respective fields.
DEODAS designs & analyzes consensus-degenerate oligonucleotide probes for biological research. DEODAS automatically designs and screens, probes against databases of known genes & stores the information in a searchable database.
