A national virtual bridge engineering contest for kids of all ages.
**Unfortunately, the Bridge Contest is no longer operational. We hope the code base will be of use to others with similar projects in mind.** A national virtual bridge engineering contest with prizes for middle and high school kids, grades 6 to 12, but anyone can enter for fun. Based on the award-wining Bridge Designer client software, now open source through this project. Web site infrastructure supports worldwide participation in qualifying and semifinal rounds with a tiny administrative staff. The new Rails back end is a RubyMine project. Thanks to JetBrains for this mega development environment!

GPL-licensed Electronic Medical Record and Practice Management system for medical providers that runs in any web browser in multiple languages. It provides an XML-RPC backend and multiple import and export formats, as well as reporting and other features
Open Source Robot Operating System
StarkOX, the first universal Open Source AI Robot Operating System. It provides easy to use hardware abstraction and commonly-used functionality. Furthermore, strong cognitive functions, voice and pattern detection together with a new powerful scripting language provide possibilities to create and share abstract behavior patterns.
GMOD is a set of interoperable open source software components for visualizing, annotating, and managing biological data. See http://gmod.org for more.
Software for storing and analysing bacterial sequence data
The Bacterial Isolate Genome Sequence Database (BIGSdb) is a scalable, web-accessible database system designed to store and analyse linked phenotypic and genotypic information in a computationally efficient manner. Sequence data can range from single sequence reads to multiple contigs generated by whole genome sequencing technologies. The system incorporates the capacity to define and identify any number of loci and genetic variants at those loci within the stored nucleotide sequences. These loci can be further organised into schemes for isolate characterisation or for evolutionary or functional analyses. See Jolley and Maiden 2010, BMC Bioinformatics 11:595 (http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2105/11/595). You can report bugs or make enhancement requests using the issues tracker at https://github.com/kjolley/BIGSdb. The source code is also mirrored there.
A database of linguistic annotation of medical text (from MEDLINE), including corpora used with ABGene, BioCreative I and II, and the MedPost training corpus.
A bioinformatics tool to identify and remove rRNA sequences from metagenomic and metatranscriptomic datasets. The rRNA-like sequences are classified by domain, subunit. and bacterial phyla. Coverage plots for the top hits are provided as well.
Real time monitoring : RPi-Monitor always keep an eye on your computer
RPi-Monitor is a monitoring tool which keep an eye on your computer and can give you the current status and the history of resources usages in a nice looking and interactive web interface. RPi-Monitor is design to be light and powerful and doesn't relies on other software to run. It has been deigned to run on embedded device and consume very few system resources.
Visual Network Management System
BioNotate is an open-source web-based tool for the collaborative and distributed annotation of biomedical text with entities and facts of interest.
Hierarchical data browser
Krona allows hierarchical data to be explored with zoomable HTML5 pie charts. Krona charts can be created using an Excel template or Krona Tools, which includes support for several bioinformatics tools and raw data formats.
Mendel’s Accountant is a biologically realistic, forward-time, parallel, numerical simulation program which models genetic change within a population, as affected by mutation and selection.
A reference implementation of the Polish geobotanical grid
This project is a reference, open source implementation of the coordinate conversion algorithms for the Polish geobotanical grid called ATPOL.
wEMBOSS is a Web interface for the EMBOSS software package for biological sequence analysis. Under wEMBOSS each user has a private workspace (UNIX home directory) on the server, where he can permanently store his data and organize them in projects. The companion suite wrappers4EMBOSS allows to integrate under EMBOSS a number of popular bioinformatic software suites as BLAST, CLUSTAL and MRS.
ASSD is a simple biological sample database focused on the storage of proteomics data. It tracks every processing step incl. results throughout a sample's lifetime. Next to proteomics data it can also store other results like FACS or Western Blots.
Abra stands for 'A brain extension'. The core idea is to create personal mappings onto information space and share those mappings. Ajax-enabled bookmarklet allows users to 'say anything about any URI', outputs RDFa. Has simple category-enabled CMS.
The system is designed for the automated analysis of high throughput sequencing data. At present Aped is focused on the analysis of data derived from Sanger and 454 sequencing. Additional functionality exists for SAGE and taxonomic profiling.
A web UI to Arexx temperature loggers
This project aims at displaying and analysing data recorded by Arexx temperature loggers on Unix operating systems. Although the code is currently implemented for etching data from Arexx loggers, the UI itself is completely independent and can be reused with other temperature databases.
this is a project dedicated to software developments for molecular informatics (include bioinformatics and cheminformatics).
An Ajax based Functional Genomics Application Server to aid in functional analysis of entire genome in-silico.
