rule-based, WEKA compatible, Machine Learning algorithm
This project is a WEKA (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis) compatible implementation of MODLEM - a Machine Learning algorithm which induces minimum set of rules. These rules can be adopted as a classifier (in terms of ML). It is a sequential covering algorithm, which was invented to cope with numeric data without discretization. Actually the nominal and numeric attributes are treated in the same way: attribute's space is being searched to find the best rule condition during rule induction. In result numeric attribute's conditions are more precise and closely describe the class. This algorithm contains some aspects of Rough Set Theory: the class definition can be described accordingly to its lower or upper approximation. For more information, see: Stefanowski, Jerzy. The rough set based rule induction technique for classification problems. In: Proc. 6th European Congress on Intelligent Techniques and Soft Computing, vol. 1. Aachen, 1998. s. 109-113.
Niche Analyst (NicheA) was developed based on the BAM framework which allows users to create virtual spaces and virtual species, and to analyze ecological niches in both multivariate environmental and geographic spaces, linking views of the niche in the two spaces. The unique functionality in NicheA, not available in other software programs, is estimating Grinnellian niches of species based on environmental variables and occurrence records, but with a clear focus on fundamental ecological niches. NicheA can display ecological niches; calculate their shape, density, location, and other attributes; and quantify similarity among multiple niches.

It's possible for machines to become self-aware.
We believe that it's possible for machines to become self-aware, but may not exhibit human-like thought processes. This project is a quest for conscious artificial intelligence. We will develop prototypes while we go for our main goal. Our steps will be 1) Develop a Learning/Predictive Module. 2) Develop a Planning Module based on the learning/predictive module. 3) Develop a Plan Optimization Module so plans built in the previous module can be optimized. 4) Develop a Decision Making Engine based on previous planning. 5) Develop prototypes of the artificial creature. 6) Publish some academic papers. And there is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH-IQgYy9zg Above video shows a popperian agent collecting mining ore from 3 mining sites and bringing to the base. At the time the agent is born, it doesn't know how to walk nor it knows that it feels pleasure by mining. He has tact only (blind agent). The video shows learning, planning, executing and optimizing plans.
