Zoomable user interface (ZUI) with file manager, file viewers and more
Eagle Mode is a zoomable user interface (ZUI) with file manager, file viewers, games, and more. This project is about a futuristic style of human-computer interaction, where the user can visit almost everything simply by zooming in. It features a portable C++ toolkit API for developing such ZUIs, and it features the Eagle Mode application, which provides a virtual cosmos with plugin applications. The most important one is the professional file manager with its rich, scriptable command set. It integrates file viewers for most of the common file types, as well as an audio and video player. Furthermore, the virtual cosmos contains a chess game, a netwalk game, a 3D minesweeper game, a world clock, some fractal fun, and a Linux kernel configurator in form of a kernel patch. Eagle Mode runs best on Linux, but there is also a light version for Windows, which lacks some of the plugins.
Haytham is an open source gaze tracker
Haytham is an open source video based eye tracker suited for head-mounted or remote setups. It provides real-time gaze estimation in the user’s field of view or the computer display by analyzing eye movement. Haytham offers gaze-based interaction with computer screens in fully mobile situations. The software is built by C#, using Emgu and AForge image processing libraries. LICENSE The Haytham is released under a dual license: FREE VERSION: The source code is released under GPL version 3.0. In short, it means that any distributed project that includes or links any portion of Haytham source code has to be released with the source code under a license compatible with GPLv3. COMMERCIAL VERSION: If you want to use the Haytham in a closed source commercial product, you must purchase the license. Chess for the Blind for the JAWS or NVDA Screen Readers
Winboard 4.5 32-bit is a free Windows accessible Chess program that works automatically with the JAWS or the free NVDA screen reader. It is for the blind, low sighted or those who can not use a mouse. It provides vocal announcements of position changes and other selectable board conditions. Blind players also use a separate "tactile chess board". Winboard 4.5 has full keyboard access to move pieces and run menu items. Partial sighted players use high contrast mode and adjust board, piece, most font sizes and colors. Available languages are English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Russian. Games may be viewed, modified or saved in standard PGN format. Two Chess engines supply play and grand master strength move analysis. Connect to the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS) and play humans. Modify verbosity in screen reader configurations and in the Winboard "Sound" dialog under the "General" menu. Find all documentation in the "doc" folder under the Winboard directory of your C drive.

PUB! is a Programmable USB Button on which you can program with a sequence of keystrokes. When you press the button those keystrokes are "replayed" over a USB connection. The button is programmed using an innovative and slightly quirky interface that does not require any custom software to be installed on your computer. All you need is a text editor like Notepad or gedit.
Semantics Visualization for Information Visualization and Analysis
Semantics Visualizations enable understanding complex matters in an easy way. The research group “Semantics Visualization” is working on processing, enriching, and visualizing any kind of semantic data to provide visually discoverable information. Thereby processes of knowledge acquisition, human information retrieval, and decision making are supported by a variety of interactive visual representations. The developed visualizations do not only allow to investigate the masses amount of various semantic formats on Web, e.g. Linked- Data or Social Networks, they also enable the interactive illustration of structured data. With SemaVis we developed a technology that provides various perspectives on the semantics of information. By combining different visualization techniques users and enterprises are able to perceive various data and information characteristics. SemaVis enables a facilitate human access to the “Internet of Data”.
