Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for learning HDL
UMHDL is an educational Integrated Development Environment (IDE) intended for learning digital designing with programmable logic devices using Hardware Description Languages (HDL) through simulation. It is an open-source application created at the Miguel Hernández University (UMH). The aim for the UMHDL development was to have a graphical application that allows learning the VHDL language without licensing restrictions (using some existing open-source tools) and requiring few resources. So, the interface developed acts as a front-end that allows writing code (with syntax highlighting), invokes an external VHDL compiler and simulator (such as GHDL), and displays the result of the simulation graphically as waveforms (invoking to GTKWave).

Convert DXF drawings of circuit boards to gEDA-PCB files.
This Python script reads in a DXF (ascii) file and generates a PCB output compatible with PCB Designer, part of the gEDA suite. It is designed for two purposes: One is to generate a PCB snippet from a mechanical drawing (such as a board outline), the other is to produce element files from CAD drawings. PCB snippets are easily imported into an existing gEDA-PCB project using File -> Load Layout to Buffer. Generated element files are ready to use (except for special cases like no-paste flags and rounded pads).

The Ciiva Electronic Component REST API provides programmatic access to the Ciiva Cloud Database. This is the same database which is used to power the Ciiva Electronic Component Search Engine at http://ciiva.com. It is also the same database which is integrated with the Ciiva Bill of Materials Management System (BMMS) at http://ciiva.com/bill-of-materials-software. The API can be used with a wide variety of different programming languages. It allows the user to query the Ciiva Cloud Database for component information in a variety of ways, including searching via description or part number. Queries to the Ciiva API return one or more data objects which contain information on manufacturer and supplier components, such as lifecycle, compliance, pricing, availability, substitutes/alternatives, datasheets, and more.

We provide MATLAB and Verilog Models of GeAr, and previously proposed adders (ACA-I, ETAII, ACA-II and GDA) at http://sourceforge.net/projects/approxadderlib/ GeAr is a low latency Generic Accuracy Configurable Adder that provides a higher number of potential configurations compared to state-of-the-art approximate adders, thus enabling a high degree of flexibility and trade-off between performance and output quality. These MATALB and Verilog models can allow software programmer as well as hardware designers to evaluate their code and design. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first open-source library of approximate adders that facilitates reproducible comparisons and further research and development in this direction across various layers of design abstraction.
