Interface for expert elicitation of numbers
ElicitN uses R and a tcltk gui interface for eliciting a number from an appropriate expert. The code has been modified from it's original version designed specifically for eliciting the number of species on coral reefs from expert taxonomists. Technologies for automating food production on various scales
The Hydroponic Automation Platform Initiative (HAPI) develops and provides hardware and software components for automating food production using hydroponic, aquaponics, and precision agriculture techniques. High-yield production in urban settings is one of the primary goals. Artifacts include hardware design (mainly Arduino-based), firmware, management software and reporting modules.
MetaMaster is a Java-based desktop application for defining, managing and manipulating metadata associated with a collection of data files or datasets (both locally and on the network) which are bundled together into "data packages". ANDS-funded
R package for hierarchical species distribution models
hSDM is an R package for hierarchical species distribution models. Such models allows interpreting the observations (occurrence and abundance of a species) as a result of several hierarchical processes including ecological processes (habitat suitability, spatial dependence and anthropogenic disturbance) and observation processes (species detectability). Hierarchical species distribution models are essential for accurately characterizing the environmental response of species, predicting their probability of occurrence, and assessing uncertainty in the model results.
R package for modelling anthropogenic deforestation
phcfM is an R package for modelling anthropogenic deforestation. It was named after the REDD+ pilot-project 'programme holistique de conservation des forêts à Madagascar'. phcfM includes two main functions: (i) demography(), to model the population growth with time in a hierarchical Bayesian framework using population census data and Gaussian linear mixed models and (ii) deforestation(), to model the deforestation process in a hierarchical Bayesian framework using land-cover change data and Binomial logistic regression models with variable time-intervals between land-cover observations. The two functions use embedded Gibbs samplers written in C++ with the Scythe statistical library to reduce computational time.
An R package to normalise, classify and analyses raw AFLP data.
AMEE is an API for CO2 data. It aims to accelerate action on Climate Change. It provides XML and JSON interfaces to standardised carbon calculations. This is tightly integrated with a profiling/transactional engine.
A User Interface implementation of a "CO2/Carbon Calculator" and profiling application to help accelerate action on Climate Change. This client interface is an example of front-end access to the AMEE API. It provides examples of registration, calculati
Implementation of HYCOM physical ocean model with coupled biogeochemical component to study nitrogen fixation in the Amazon plume. This project is still in development, the code may not be functional at this time.
The aim of the project is create a learning tools for students. If children become aware of consumption, perhaps they will be able to influence and affect a larger system of the school. Within smart energies, the goal of the monitoring system is the control and management, even remotely, ofconsumption and production of energy users are characterized by complex energy systems. BETR-Research (BETRS) is a modelling framework to create spatially resolved multimedia models for the environmental fate- and transport of chemical contaminants. It is intended to serve the research community and can be used as a teaching tool.
BioMa is a specimen based Biodiversity database Manager. It is designed to store, organize, and manipulate biodiversity-related scientific data, either for the purposes of museums, scientific collections, or research projects.
birdweights is a a package of scripts to analyze data from an automated system for the measurement of mass and identification of birds at perches.
Competition for Resources between Agent Functional Types
CRAFTY is a large-scale ABM of land use change. It has been designed to allow efficient but powerful simulation of a wide range of land uses and the goods and services they produce. It is fully open-source and can be used without the need for any programming.

This is a P2P network where all the people share data about his efforts to reduce the global warming. Every goverment and NGO will be conected to share his data of carbon levels , and his actions to counteract the problem.
A model that projects climate change impacts to coral reefs
The COMBO model projects climate change impacts to coral reefs based on estimated future changes in sea-surface temperature and ocean acidification. Outputs include estimated timing of bleaching events, changes in coral reef cover, and associated changes in economic values.
To log/share/analyze/optimize/simulate garden activity
An online database and cross-platform, game-like client where gardeners/farmers (small or large scale) can log their actions and measurements (such as weather, yield, current plant size). Any user can then play it back visually, or play with the data and see a simulation inferred from the knowledge database, or calculate an optimal design within given constraints, inferred from the knowledge available at that time. This is both a tool for playing, in order to entertain and inspire people, as well as a serious feedback and design tool. There will be a user feedback system to value the accuracy of the data. It is allowed to enter and share mock farming data, as long as it's tagged as being fantasy, to exclude it from the analyses. Things like dietary information, tiredness and bio-constructions will be included as well, to improve optimizations of a garden design with (partial) self-sufficiency in mind. The UI will resemble a garden, and can switch to simplified views.
DIET Agents is a lightweight, scalable and robust multi-agent platform in Java. It is especially suitable for rapidly developing P2P prototype applications and/or adaptive, distributed applications that use bottom-up, nature-inspired techniques.
