A fast and robust software for tracking organisms
ToxTrac is a free Windows program optimized for tracking animals. It uses an advanced tracking algorithm that is robust; very fast; and that can handle one or several animals in one or several environments. The program provides useful statistics as output. ToxTrac can be used for fish, insects, rodents, etc. If used, please cite: Rodriguez, A., Zhang, H., Klaminder, J., Brodin, T., Andersson, P. L. and Andersson, M. (2017). PCRaster environmental modeling software
Note: Active projects have been copied to Github: https://github.com/pcraster PCRaster is a collection of tools and software libraries tailored to the construction of spatio-temporal environmental models. Application domains are amongst others hydrology (rainfall-runoff, global water balance, groundwater (with Modflow)), ecology, or land use change. Two scripting languages (PCRcalc and Python) include a rich set of spatial operations for manipulating and analysing raster maps. A Python framework supports Monte Carlo simulations and data assimilation (Ensemble Kalman Filter and Particle Filter). The Aguila tool allows for the interactive visualisation of stochastic spatio-temporal data.
CAESAR-Lisflood landscape evolution model
Caesar Lisflood is a geomorphological / Landscape evolution model that combines the Lisflood-FP 2d hydrodynamic flow model (Bates et al, 2010) with the CAESAR geomorphic model to simulate erosion and deposition in river catchments and reaches over time scales from hours to 1000's of years. These sourceforge pages provide downloads of the .exe and the source code for CAESAR-lisflood and instructions and additional documentation can be found in the Wiki tab. These include a full description of all the parameters used in CAESAR, instruction videos and other information. Discussion and support can be found here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/caesar-lisflood
Geostatistics and geosciences modeling software
GEOMS2 is a geostatistics and geosciences modeling software. Provides interface for grid (mesh), point, surface and data (non-spatial) objects. It has a 3D viewer and 2D plots using the well known Python engines Mayavi and Matplotlib. It has several functions to manipulate your data as well as provide univariate and multivariate analysis. NOTE: The software is still an early beta. Please tell us if you found a bug. Search and download satellite images
RS Downloader offers access to satellite image data pools. Via web interface the user is able to search and download specified satellite images. This version is an alpha and while running stable, currently only retrieves products from NASAs LP DAAC data pool (see https://lpdaac.usgs.gov/data_access/data_pool). Further versions will include updated parsers and spatial selection UIs to access other available sources.

Toolbox for geoscientists and geo enthusiasts
EDMFit is an adjustment tool to estimate EDM calibration parameters.
An EDM calibration baseline is used to derive specific instrument errors of the electronic distance measurement (EDM) unit of a total station. EDMFit is a simple adjustment tool to estimate the EDM calibration parameters (addition constant and/or scale parameter). The adjustment process is according to ISO 17123-4. The parameters are checked for significance, to avoid an overestimation. Based on two classical hypothesis testing, EDMFit provides a reliable outlier detection. For uncertainties budgeting, EDMFit makes use of Monte-Carlo simulations and supports different distribution function: - Uniform distribution, - Triangular distribution and - Gaussian (normal) distribution. For refractive index determination, the application supports the following models: - Barrel and Sears (1939), - Edlen (1953, 1966), - Owens (1967), - IAG (1999) and - Ciddor (1996, 2002). The results of the adjustment are reported in a template-based and valid HTML5/CSS3 report.
View and edit grids of meteorological values

All network communication made through HTTP services. Enhanced version of the system used by national weather services.
OS that includes the Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin for QGIS
The Semi-Automatic OS is a lightweight OS designed for the land cover classification of remote sensing images. It includes the Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin for QGIS 2.8, already configured along with all the required dependencies (OGR, GDAL, Numpy, SciPy, and Matplotlib). The Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin is a free plugin that allows for the semi-automatic supervised classification of remote sensing images, providing tools to expedite the creation of ROIs and the classification process. The Semi-Automatic OS is based on Debian 8, and it is designed to require very little hardware resources. It uses LXDE and Openbox as main desktop environment. At the moment, the Semi-Automatic OS is available as a virtual machine.
