General data-reduction tool for fiber-fed integral-field spectrographs
p3d is a general data-reduction tool for use with fiber-fed integral-field spectrographs (IFSs); although, the spectrum viewer works with spectrum data cubes of any origin. The tool is built about the proprietary software IDL (Harris/EXELIS; see http://www.harrisgeospatial.com), but can be used without any license. Most slowly running loops are implemented in parallelized C (OpenMP).
Echoes it's a radio spectral analysis software for RTL-SDR devices,
Echoes it's a radio spectral analysis software for RTL-SDR devices, designed for meteor scattering purposes. RTL-SDR are very cheap Software Defined Radios that uses DVB-T TV tuner dongles based on Realtek's RTL2832U chipset. Echoes doesn't demodulate neither decode any human-made signal. Its main goal is to analyze and record the total power of natural signals and generate screenshots and tabular data (CSV, GNUplot) output in presence of particular peaks in a selected narrow range of frequencies. Since there is no demodulation, there is no provision for audio listening, except for a notify sound when an event has been recorded.

AstroCTC - Linux astronomy software for Planetary and Lunar image c
AstroCTC (Astronomy CCD in Telescope Capture) is an application designed for video and image capture of the Planets and the Moon. A suitable astronomy or modified webcam will give the best results, however it will work with most webcams. The camera driver must be V4L2 compliant. Numerous video and image formats are available, however FITS image support is mostly basic and should only be used by those familiar with it. AstroCTC is intended for use with Linux only. While AstroCTC is primarily designed for use in astronomy, it can also serve as a general webcam program. The sample images shown were captured using a Meade LX90 8" and a Celestron NexImage camera.
Supernova search tool
Starblinker allows to easily search for new stars in your astronomical photos. The new star could be: 1) An already known or a new unknown asteroid; 2) An already known or a new unknown comet; 3) An already known or a new unknown galactic nova; 4) If it is superimposed to an external galaxy, an already known or a new unknown supernova; Before reporting a potential new discovery, please make all necessary checks to be sure it is not an already known object or a defect in your image.

C API to control NexStar compatible telescopes
This library implements the serial commands supported by the Celestron NexStar hand control (HC) and SkyWatcher/Orion SynScan HC. This applies to the Celestron: NexStar GPS, NexStar GPS-SA, NexStar iSeries, NexStar SE Series, NexStar GT, CPC, SLT, Advanced-VX, Advanced-GT, CGE, CGEM etc. SkyWatcher: EQ5, HEQ5, EQ6 (Pro), AZ-EQ5 GT, AZ-EQ6 GT, EQ8 etc. and the corresponding Orion mounts. Communication to the hand control is 9600 bits/sec, no parity and one stop bit via the RS-232 port on the base of the hand control. Communication can be established over TCP/IP if nexbridge is running on the computer connected to the telescope. To control network based telescopes nexbridge must be used on the remote site. https://sourceforge.net/projects/nexbridge/
Converts ADV video frames into FITS files
This is a specialised utility that works with the astronomical digital video (ADV) standard (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/adv-standard/) and converts individual video frames to FITS files. ADV files can be recorded by devices such as the Astronomical Digital Video System (ADVS) - http://www.astrodigitalvideo.com.au/
INDI C# Client
This project consist in a .NET/Mono assembly containing a simple INDI client and a WinForm that permits to connect to astronomical equipment INDI server, and to use drivers connected at it.
Python binding to the libindi library
This project offers a python binding to the libindi library. It uses the Simplified Wrapper and Interface Generator (SWIG). You may generate a PyIndi module which mainly defines an IndiClient class. This class could be used to build python scripts able to interact with indi servers using sendNew* methods and implementing new* methods of the BaseMediator class. PyQt applications may also be built on top of IndiClient, thus allowing rapid development of GUI Indi clients. Besides Python there are also bindings for node.js, Tcl (incomplete) and PHP (not useful). As application examples you will find a Python Websocket server with which you may build a web application interacting with Indi servers, and a simple PyQt application similar to the Kstars Indi Control Panel (was built as an exercise). Finally there is an equatorial mount 3D simulator written with Freecad and Python, planned to be connected with the PyIndi module.

ComaGUI is a frontend for the software COMA for AGBstar spectra
ComaGUI was developed as a part of my Master Thesis at the University of Vienna. It is a graphical user interface for the Fortran SW COMA (Copenhagen Opacities for Model Atmospheres: from Aringer (2000) ) which can generate synthetic AGB-star spectra.
Fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy made easy
FABS is a program designed to run a fluorescence/absorption spectrometer on Windows. The program analyzes spectra and provides graphs and data files. Users may choose to input video files from cell phones or other cameras, still images, or even live streams of video from webcams. FABS can perform any necessary calibration and image preprocessing. Experienced users have a number of more advanced options such as background subtraction, adjustments for nonlinearities in detector response, and graph smoothing. FABS was designed with students in mind, as a way to help high schoolers and undergraduates learn about spectroscopy without paying for expensive equipment and software. Accompanying this software is a hardware design, which can be used as a bare-bones spectrometer that will provide quantitative absorption and fluorescence emission spectra at an extremely low cost. It uses only materials that many people can find around their home.
Astrophysical magnetic fields simulator
Hammurabi is a HEALPix-based tool for simulating observables such as polarized synchrotron and thermal dust emission from models of physical inputs such as magnetic fields, dust and electron distributions, etc. It is a modular C++ framework into which you can add your own models easily and then use it to perform the line-of-sight integration to compute the observables. See the wiki for installation and usage information. Please cite the original Waelkens et al. (2009) paper if you use hammurabi. Hammurabi is being re-written and significantly improved. For the new version, please go to https://bitbucket.org/hammurabicode/hamx
HSPI does parallel capture and sky surveys.
HSPI offers to the astronomer the possibility to capture pictures from the CCD camera in a fast and intuitive way, keeping under control all the instrumentation in posses. HSPI can control the CCD camera, the mount, the focuser, the filter wheel and the dome from a single interface, and not only this: these features can be added on as many observatories and instrumentations you want. HSPI is ASCOM and INDI compatible, so if you want to use particular setups like Linux computers connected with your instrumentation and control them from remote then HSPI is your choice! After a few clicks you can see the images coming from your cameras connected through Internet or your LAN. HSPI saves your pictures in various formats: Bitmap, FIT, JPEG, PNG, TIFF are the picture formats supported.
