Routines for wavefront propagation in IDL, Matlab, and Python
PROPER is a library of routines for the propagation of wavefronts through an optical system using Fourier-based methods. It was developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for modeling stellar coronagraphs, but it can be applied to other optical systems were diffraction propagation is of concern. It is currently available for IDL (Interactive Data Language), Matlab and Python (2.7 & 3.x). It includes routines for generating complex apertures and obscurations and aberrations (Zernike & PSD-defined). It includes a model of a deformable mirror for wavefront control. The routines perform near and far field propagation with automatic selection of propagators. All Python users are urged to download v3.0b, which has some major bug fixes. The latest Python version is v3.0b released on 6 Mar 2018. IDL and Matlab versions are v3.0a from 22 Jan 2018.
General data-reduction tool for fiber-fed integral-field spectrographs
p3d is a general data-reduction tool for use with fiber-fed integral-field spectrographs (IFSs); although, the spectrum viewer works with spectrum data cubes of any origin. The tool is built about the proprietary software IDL (Harris/EXELIS; see http://www.harrisgeospatial.com), but can be used without any license. Most slowly running loops are implemented in parallelized C (OpenMP).
Galaxy extraterrestrial life simulation
EtiC is a galaxy simulation software that generates and renders a mock galaxy for rational estimation of the number of extraterrestrial civilizations. Stars and planets are simulated with plausible physical characteristics, based on user-adjustable parameters. An EtiC simulation run consists to generate a galaxy disk physical stars, associate planets to the stars, and for habitable planets, simulate the life stages evolution until extinction. A visual animation of the galaxy and user selection of highlighted star-planet objects is provided, together with statistics (25+ graphs) and estimates of Drake equation factors. The V2_1 provides several new features: planets surface magnetic field, reworked life stage transitions, integration of MW exoplanets catalog, planets view and graphs window optionally on different threads... EtiC is based on OpenGL / GLFW 3.2, runs on MSWindows 7 and MacOsX. Source code in C++, was developped using the Dev-C++ IDE and XCode.
Calculates the MayaDate from a gregorian Date
Enter an gregorian Date (a Date from our Calendar) and the MayaDate inclusive the Tzolkin and Haab get generated. I prefer the Thompson Method but i've implemeted the Lounsbury too.

This Project allows to control an goto telescope mount from smartphone, tablet or PC. 3rd party software for control the mount is required e.g. Stellarium, CdC, SkySafari ... WiFi/BT boards based on an ES32-WROOM - compatible with Arduino. I have started this (my first) project recently and i am now in the development and testing phase. The development is continuous.
