Software for polar alignment of equatorial mounts
PARot is a program for ultra fast and precise polar alignment of equatorial mounts. You can easily achieve alignment accuracy better than 1 arcmin in 5 minutes of time. You take one image of the celestial pole, rotate the mount around the RA axis and take another image. The program compares the images and shows you the necessary adjustment. The adjustment process is controlled by the live-liew created by your camera. Requirements: * A computer with Windows OS (tested with WinXP x64, Win7 x64, Win7 x86). * Maxim DL version 5. * A camera which can be controlled from MaxIm. * A combination of telescope and camera such that the camera can 'see' a star in any field with the exposure time of a few seconds. * A view of the celestial pole. It can't be blocked, e.g., by ground objects. * Read the manual please!

Astronomy program for selecting, viewing, aligning and stacking images. Creates 16-bit AVI gray/color video files from images series, concatenates videos together into one video file. The program helps to rebuild sequences of images and restore continuous order of files after they were edited, deleted, renamed or moved. PGMania converts images from one format to another. Supports batch converting operations, also for image sequences. Image formats can be any of well known image formats 8/16/32 bpp b/w/c. The program aligns and fits the pairs of images or image series, with each other or over master, calibrates them in pairs. Program detects stars and get stars statistics. Calculates fwhm, snr and star magnitudes. Image editor with alive histogram, contrast stretching, filters, evaluates and post process. Galaxy extraterrestrial life simulation
EtiC is a galaxy simulation software that generates and renders a mock galaxy for rational estimation of the number of extraterrestrial civilizations. Stars and planets are simulated with plausible physical characteristics, based on user-adjustable parameters. An EtiC simulation run consists to generate a galaxy disk physical stars, associate planets to the stars, and for habitable planets, simulate the life stages evolution until extinction. A visual animation of the galaxy and user selection of highlighted star-planet objects is provided, together with statistics (25+ graphs) and estimates of Drake equation factors. The V2_1 provides several new features: planets surface magnetic field, reworked life stage transitions, integration of MW exoplanets catalog, planets view and graphs window optionally on different threads... EtiC is based on OpenGL / GLFW 3.2, runs on MSWindows 7 and MacOsX. Source code in C++, was developped using the Dev-C++ IDE and XCode.

GRad is a standalone solar radiation model, programmed in Java. It is capable of the calculation of potential (clear sky) and actual (real sky) irradiance and total irradiation for single and multiple geographical locations. Note that, while fully functional, this application is currently not developed any further.
ASCOM driver for the LittleFoot Elegance Photo (LFEP) telescope controller. Firmware 6.x is fully supported - firmware 5.x is partially supported (all LFEP features are available but configuration is only possible by handbox). This project simulates the behavior, dynamics, and motion of a group of celestial objects. Given N point masses in a three-dimensional space, its present positions and velocities, and supposing that the force of attraction experienced between each pair of particles is Newtonian, the project approximately predicts it's positions and velocities at a future moment of time. The project can visualize the simulation, and create a graphic real-time output using FreeGLUT, and also have an option for textual output and archiving. Cross platform Perl API to control NexStar compatible telescopes
This module implements the serial commands supported by the Celestron NexStar hand control (HC) and SkyWatcher/Orion SynScan HC. This applies to the Celestron: NexStar GPS, NexStar GPS-SA, NexStar iSeries, NexStar SE Series, NexStar GT, CPC, SLT, Advanced-VX, Advanced-GT, CGE, CGEM etc. SkyWatcher: EQ5, HEQ5, EQ6 (Pro), AZ-EQ5 GT, AZ-EQ6 GT, EQ8 etc. and the corresponding Orion mounts. Communication to the hand control is 9600 bits/sec, no parity and one stop bit via the RS-232 port on the base of the hand control. For extended example how to use this perl module look in to the distribution folder for nexstarctl.pl. This program is a complete console tool to control NexStar telesctopes based on NexStarCtl module.
