scanbd is a scanner button daemon. It polls the scanner buttons looking for buttons pressed or function knob changes or other scanner events as paper inserts / removals and at the same time allows also scan-applications to access the scanners. unpaper is a post-processing tool for scanned sheets of paper, especially for book-pages scanned from previously created photocopies. unpaper tries to remove dark edges, corrects the rotation ("deskew"), and aligns the centering of pages.

Note this project has moved to github: https://github.com/sglass68/paperman This is a document management program similar to PaperPort in aim. It allows scanning of paper into directories quickly and easily with a thumbnail/desktop view. Maxview decodes .max files and can convert them to PDF.
