CoDeSys v2.3 supports so called network variables. Blocks of (global) variables, that propagates over networks like TCP, UDP or UDP Multicast aso. This python module supports parsing, receiving and sending those blocks (with UDP Multicast only). With this you can add for example a Raspberry Pi Sensor to your automation network without special Network clients on your PLC.

mod_openopc is a full featured implementation of the OpenOPC library for Python. It is cross platform compatible (full Python 2.5 and up). Generic directory service (for the EPICS tool set). Directory entries are channels with properties and tags. Applications can query a web service to retrieve channels based on wildcard matching on properties and tags, and manipulate the directory data. Cross platform (python 2.5) tool for exporting data via SMTP (email) to an Endress-Hauser Fieldgate DM3 Server. This tool may be used with any MySQL database historian, even though it was originally an extension for mod_openopc.
