DRAFT is a development and runtime platform for supporting rapid integration of WSN utility programs. DRAFT consists of a computer-side development environment and node-side middleware which is built upon the Contiki operating system. With DRAFT, developers can quickly assemble WSN utilities into node firmware by writing simple configuration descriptions in the development environment. In DRAFT, each utility is implemented in an individual module, and modules with similar behaviors are grouped into one mode to avoid interference. At runtime, the node-side middleware monitors application and user requests, and automatically switches to an appropriate mode and runs corresponding modules based on developer’s configuration.
