Easy CNC

The goal of the project is the realization of a modular firmware that allows to control a CNC machine with different utensils. For instance, a CNC with a drill, with few changes can become a plotter with a pen or cutting machine to cut cardboard or stickers. In order to do that, we want project a CNC router with a mechanism that allows a fast utensil change and a controlling firmware which can use different utensils changing some configuration parameters. -

Algorithms may be implemented in C or Embedded MATLAB and executed in the MATLAB simulation environment to verify general desired behavior. With some limitations, the code used in the simulation can be directly transferred to the SPHERES hardware. We are sharing this project with the public to gather more interest for SPHERES Guest Scientists. Streams data from 3D cameras over a network.
...The program is Intended to be used in robotics applications where the controller cannot use such cameras directly due to hardware/software limitations--such as lacking usb ports or appropriate drivers--or in situations where the camera is not in close proximity to the device that needs to access it. Given that the controller can accept data from over the network, another embedded controller that is able to use these kinds of cameras can be loaded with this software to send the image and depth data from the kinect over the network to the other controller. Currently, KinectStreamer can only use the libfreenect library as its driver. Support for the OpenNI driver should be rolling out soon. As well as a C++ client to the KinectStreamer server. ...
