    ngrok

    ngrok

    Unified ingress for developers

ngrok is a globally distributed, secure reverse proxy and tunneling service that exposes applications running on local machines behind NATs or firewalls to the public internet. It simplifies remote debugging, webhooks integration, and secure ingress by wrapping reverse proxy, firewall traversal, API gateway, and load-balancing functionality into a single tool. ngrok is a globally distributed reverse proxy that secures, protects and accelerates your applications and network services, no matter where you run them. You can think of ngrok as the front door to your applications. ngrok combines your reverse proxy, firewall, API gateway, and global load balancing into one. ngrok can capture and analyze all traffic to your web service for later inspection and replay.

    Cloudflare Tunnel Client

    Cloudflare Tunnel Client

    Cloudflare Tunnel Client

Contains the command-line client for Cloudflare Tunnel, a tunneling daemon that proxies traffic from the Cloudflare network to your origins. This daemon sits between Cloudflare network and your origin (e.g. a webserver). Cloudflare attracts client requests and sends them to you via this daemon, without requiring you to poke holes on your firewall --- your origin can remain as closed as possible. Extensive documentation can be found in the Cloudflare Tunnel section of the Cloudflare Docs. All usages related with proxying to your origins are available under cloudflared tunnel help. You can also use cloudflared to access Tunnel origins (that are protected with cloudflared tunnel) for TCP traffic at Layer 4 (i.e., not HTTP/web socket), which is relevant for use cases such as SSH, RDP, etc. Such usages are available under cloudflared access help.

    frp

    frp

    A Fast Reverse Proxy

frp stands for exactly what it is: a fast reverse proxy. It helps you expose a local server behind a NAT or firewall to the Internet. It is currently under development, but already supports TCP and UDP, as well as HTTP and HTTPS protocols where requests can be forwarded to internal services by domain name. It also has a P2P connect mode and many other nifty features. These include configuration files, environment variables, a dashboard that shows you frp's status and proxies' statistics information, an Admin UI that helps you check and manage frpc's configuration, and many others.

    V2Fly

    V2Fly

A platform for building proxies to bypass network restrictions

V2Fly Project V is a set of network tools that helps you to build your own computer network. It secures your network connections and thus protects your privacy. Help you build an exclusive basic communication network. A V2Ray process can concurrently support multiple inbound and outbound protocols, and each protocol can work independently. Inbound traffic can be sent from different outlets according to the configuration. Easily implement distribution by region or domain name to achieve optimal network performance. V2Ray can open multiple protocol support at the same time, including Socks, HTTP, Shadowsoks and VMess. The transmission carrier can be set separately for each protocol, such as TCP, mKCP and WebSocket. Nodes of V2Ray can be disguised as a normal website (HTTPS) to confuse its traffic with normal web traffic to avoid third-party interference. Universal reverse proxy support can achieve intranet penetration.

    Caddy

Powerful, enterprise-ready, open source web server w/ automatic HTTPS

Caddy is a powerful, extensible, enterprise-ready server platform that uses TLS by default. Everything you would require in your infrastructure, from TLS certificate renewals and OCSP stapling, to reverse proxying and ingress, Caddy simplifies it all. Its modular architecture lets you do more with just a single static binary that compiles for any platform. Caddy is the only web server that uses HTTPS automatically and by default. It automatically renews TLS certificates, staples OCSP responses and more. Though used mostly as an HTTPS server, Caddy can be used to run Go applications, offering automated documentation, graceful on-line config changes via API and more to these apps. Caddy is very extensible, with a powerful plugin system unlike any other web server.

    OAuth2 Proxy

    OAuth2 Proxy

A reverse proxy that provides authentication with Google, Azure, etc.

A reverse proxy and static file server that provides authentication using Providers (Google, GitHub, and others) to validate accounts by email, domain or group. If you are running a version older than v6.0.0 we strongly recommend you please update to the current version. After returning from the authentication provider, the OAuth tokens are stored in the configured session store (cookie, redis, ...) and a cookie is set. The request is forwarded to the upstream server with added user info and authentication headers (depending on the configuration) oauth2-proxy can be configured via command line options, environment variables or config file (in decreasing order of precedence, i.e. command line options will overwrite environment variables and environment variables will overwrite configuration file settings).

    Fabio

    Fabio

    Consul Load-Balancing made simple

Fabio is an HTTP and TCP reverse proxy that configures itself with data from Consul. Traditional load balancers and reverse proxies need to be configured with a config file. The configuration contains the hostnames and paths the proxy is forwarding to upstream services. This process can be automated with tools like consul-template that generate config files and trigger a reload. Fabio works differently since it updates its routing table directly from the data stored in Consul as soon as there is a change and without restart or reloading. When you register a service in Consul all you need to add is a tag that announces the paths the upstream service accepts, e.g. urlprefix-/user or urlprefix-/order and fabio will do the rest. Fabio was developed and maintained by Frank Schröder through January, 2020. Since that date primary maintenance has been the responsibility of ENA and the great community of users.

    Skipper

    Skipper

An HTTP router and reverse proxy for service composition

Skipper is an HTTP router and reverse proxy for service composition. It’s designed to handle large amounts of dynamically configured HTTP route definitions (>800000 routes) with detailed lookup conditions, and flexible augmentation of the request flow with filters. It can be used out of the box or extended with custom lookup, filter logic and configuration sources. Skipper identifies routes based on the requests’ properties, such as path, method, host and headers using the predicates. It allows the modification of the requests and responses with filters that are independently configured for each route. Skipper can be used to run as a Kubernetes Ingress controller. Details with examples of Skipper’s capabilities and an overview can be found in the ingress-controller deployment docs.

    rathole

    rathole

A lightweight and high-performance reverse proxy for NAT traversal

A secure, stable and high-performance reverse proxy for NAT traversal, written in Rust. rathole, like frp and ngrok, can help to expose the service on the device behind the NAT to the Internet, via a server with a public IP. High Performance Much higher throughput can be achieved than frp, and more stable when handling a large volume of connections. Low Resource Consumption Consumes much fewer memory than similar tools. See Benchmark. The binary can be as small as ~500KiB to fit the constraints of devices, like embedded devices as routers. Security Tokens of services are mandatory and service-wise. The server and clients are responsible for their own configs. With the optional Noise Protocol, encryption can be configured at ease. No need to create a self-signed certificate! TLS is also supported.

    Sōzu

    Sōzu

Sōzu HTTP reverse proxy, configurable at runtime, fast and safe

Open source HTTP reverse proxy built in Rust for immutable infrastructures. Most existing tools have a static vision of production: a service is installed once on a long-lived server, updated from time to time, with configuration rarely changing. There's now a shift in infrastructure to short-lived virtual machines and hundreds of new deployments per day, and the usual tools reach their limits. How do we reconcile a dynamic environment with availability guarantees? How can we get "zero downtime" deployments for critical services? SŌZU is a HTTP reverse proxy built in Rust, that can handle fine-grained configuration changes at runtime without reloads, and is designed to never ever stop. SŌZU receives and handles configuration changes at runtime and updates its internal configuration without restarts. You can update the configuration multiple times per second, and it will take care of lingering connections.

    Vulcain

    Vulcain

Fast and idiomatic client-driven REST APIs

Vulcain is a brand new protocol using HTTP/2 Server Push to create fast and idiomatic client-driven REST APIs. An open-source gateway server that you can put on top of any existing web API to instantly turn it into a Vulcain-compatible one is also provided! It supports hypermedia APIs but also any "legacy" API by documenting its relations using OpenAPI. The protocol has been published as an Internet-Draft that is maintained in this repository. A reference, production-grade, implementation gateway server is also available in this repository. It's free software (AGPL) written in Go. A Docker image is provided. Current solutions for these problems (GraphQL, JSON:API's embedded resources and sparse fieldsets, etc.) are smart network hacks for HTTP/1. But these hacks come with (too) many drawbacks when it comes to HTTP cache, logs and even security. Fortunately, thanks to the new features introduced in HTTP/2, it's now possible to create true REST APIs fixing these problems with ease.

    hiproxy

    hiproxy

hiproxy is a lightweight proxy tool for Front-End developers

hiproxy is a lightweight web proxy tool based on Node.js. The primary purpose of hiproxy is to solve the problem of host management and reverse proxy needs of developers. For example, if you are working as a team and each of the developers in the team need a different proxy setting, you will no longer need to modify your hosts file or use a web server like Nginx as a reverse proxy. hiproxy extends the syntax of hosts file to support port numbers. Besides, hiproxy also supports configuration through a syntax similar to the Nginx configuration file. To develop your web projects in a local development environment, you’ll have to run a back-end server (such as a Node.js express application, or a Java SpringBoot application). As a front-end developer, you might not be familiar with the back-end technology stack, simply setting up the development environment can consume a lot of your time.

    Apache2::ModProxyPerlHtml

Reverse proxy with http header, html and javascript code rewritter

Apache2::ModProxyPerlHtml is the most advanced Apache output filter to rewrite HTTP headers and HTML links for reverse proxy usage. It is written in Perl and exceeds all mod_proxy_html.c limitations without performance lost. It is very simple and has far better parsing/replacement of URL than the original C code. It also support meta tag, CSS, and javascript URL rewriting and can be use with compressed HTTP. You can now replace any code by other, like changing images name or anything else. mod_proxy_html can't do all of that. Since release 3.0 ModProxyPerlHtml is also able to rewrite HTTP headers with refresh url redirection. One of the common used of ModProxyPerlHtml is as free replacement for ISA servers.

    Easegress

    Easegress

A Cloud Native traffic orchestration system

The Easegres (formally known as Ease Gateway) helps to enlarge the availability and stability, also can improve the performance without changing a line of code. It also can smoothly support rapid business growth without re-arch the whole system. Easegress can be a typical seven-level API Gateway, it also can be a side-car to be a Service Mesh, and Easegress can perfectly work with other software to ship powerful features, such as: Kubernetes Ingress, Knaitve FaaS, and Eureka/Consul/Etcd/Nacos and so on. The Easegress can management the traffic and APIs, not only can do load balancing, canary development but also can aggregate and pipeline a number of APIs. This function automatically helps the website optimize its performance, such as: adding the cache, merging the requests, and reducing the network bandwidth. Sometimes, a site could have unexpectedly higher traffic, the Ease Gateway could help to protect the critical service for critical customers.

    Laravel Trusted Proxies

    Laravel Trusted Proxies

Laravel Proxy Package for handling sessions when behind load balancers

Setting a trusted proxy allows for correct URL generation, redirecting, session handling and logging in Laravel when behind a reverse proxy such as a load balancer or cache. Laravel 5.5+ comes with this package. If you are using Laravel 5.5 or greater, you do not need to add this to your project separately. Setting a trusted proxy allows for correct URL generation, redirecting, session handling and logging in Laravel when behind a reverse proxy. This is useful if your web servers sit behind a load balancer (Nginx, HAProxy, Envoy, ELB/ALB, etc), HTTP cache (CloudFlare, Squid, Varnish, etc), or other intermediary (reverse) proxy. Laravel (technically the Symfony HTTP base classes) have a concept of a "trusted proxy", where those X-Forwarded headers will only be used if the source IP address of the request is known. In other words, it only trusts those headers if the proxy is trusted.
